Strangler Terrorizes Philadelphia

By Wyatt Earp | December 9, 2010

DragonLady mentioned this story yesterday and I completely forgot I haven’t posted about it. Sorry about that, but my division is so busy, I rarely notice something that happens in another. Even when it makes national news.

For those not in the know, a serial strangler is on the loose in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. Kensington is in the eastern part of the city, near the Delaware River. The man has already killed two women and is a suspect in three other assaults. Now, the FBI has been called in.

It’s a terrifying time for women in Kensington. The so-called Kensington Strangler is linked to two deaths and three other frightening assaults in the neighborhood, according to investigators. DNA connects the two deaths. Now, the FBI has joined the search. Agents will create a profile of the attacker in the 5 linked cases. It will also provide forensic assistance to the investigation.

Commissioner Ramsey urged every victim of violence to come forward, even if his or her attacker doesn’t resemble the police sketch of the suspect.

If you live in the Kensington section – or anywhere in Philadelphia – keep your eyes open. Suffice to say, no woman is safe until this animal is behind bars.

I hope this dirt bag gets caught real soon

gee that’d just be a damned shame if he ends up praying on a woman with a LTCF, and and she is carrying.

bang bang bang…another one bites the dust.

Here’s hoping that you get him Wyatt or he picks on someone with a concealed carry who is really quick for a Coup De Grace.

On a more depressing note did you read where the Westboro Baptist church creeps will be picketing Elizabeth Edwards funeral? Mind if I float a possible solution to these scum..during Edwards senate career
he probably befriended a foreign dignitary or two so if any of them attend the funeral, don’t their aide decamps have diplomatic immunity as well? One of them could
waste one or two of those creeps on their way out of the cemetery and the worst that they would recieve would be to be dispelled from the country, and a hero’s send off to boot. Or is murder outside of diplomatic immunity?
    Just saying….

    Rick – As do I.

Smite – Most of his victims are prostitutes and drug users. Better chance of them sticking him with a needle.

Jon – Homicide and SVU have the job. They’ll nab him; hopefully before he gets someone else.

As for Westboro, they are picketing my high school this month. Stand by for that post.

Just ONE more reason for women to carry… sigh… Get him Wyatt!

Great, look for a black or Latino man in his 20s or 30s wearing a hoodie. That should narrow it down a bit.

Old NFO – A lot of women who “cruise” that area are already carrying: heroin, crabs, etc.

Randal – Yeah, they are never specific enough with these manhunts. Well, that and people are generally bad witnesses.

::cough:: Low to average intelligence, outcast, lives with family, previous charges of a voyeuristic or fetish nature possible, but certainly started with petty crimes, followed by periods of escalation to more serious charges, until he murdered. ::cough::

I forgot to say why I thought those things…
Low to average intelligence – While he didn’t attempt to hide his DNA on the victim, he did pick a vulnerable/easy victim. So probably closer to average than low.
Outcast- I think he probably gives people the creeps, although he might be accepted as one of the guys, but they keep an eye on him.
Lives with family- Just a hunch that he’s not steadily employed, if at all, and stays with family members.
I think previous crimes make sense since you just don’t one day decide to go strangle and kill someone. I also think that he has some sexual hangups or…maybe is a bit misogynistic, because he chooses to strangle them. Kind of an intimate, up close and personal way to kill someone. You have to look them in the eye. Maybe that’s his way of having sex or getting close to someone??

This is so scary. I’ve been watching this on the news, and even though the women targeted have their issues, they are human and do not deserve anything as what has happened to them. Just awful.

The Philadelphia Strangler. Lovely. Stay safe. Hopefully the women will keep themselves safe.

Dude, Really? A strangler story tonight?

And Ed Rendell vetoed castle doctrine. Somebody should remind him of that when he starts talking about the Kensington Kreep.

…As for Phelps: a pack of his scumbags tried picketing a military funeral here in Missouri a couple of weeks ago and, wouldn’t you know, somebody slashed the tires on their minivan.

And every garage in town turned them away when they went looking for new ones. Phelps’ Phuckers finally had to have their van towed to a Wal-Mart in another town to have their tires replaced.

Last I heard, the perp was “still at large.” *giggle*

DL474 – So when did you get into the profiling business? :)

RT – This guy won’t stop until he’s caught. That’s the problem.

Kim – Arm themselves. That’s what they should do.

Captain – Dude, you post like once a week. How was I supposed to know you were going with this?

Wes S. – Rendell will talk a big game about this toad, but you’re right: he doesn’t walk the walk.

I’ve been studying serial killers for a very long time, I always found them interesting and wondered what made them tick.

If he was dealing out social justice, he should do us all a favor and take himself out.

  18. Wyatt Earp Says:
    December 11th, 2010 at 1:27 pm

DL474 – Human serial killers, not zombie serial killers, right?

Heltau – Yeah, like all of our Muslim fundamentalist friends.

    DL474 – Agreed.

  19. Heltau Says:
    December 12th, 2010 at 1:16 am

I have never said, Yeah, like all of our mooslime fundamentalist friends.
I have no mooslime fundamentalist friends, plus they are NOT our friends.
Like I have said and written before:
A moderate mooslime is one that has not blown you up with an IED, yet.
However, never mind if you meant the line, “Yeah, like all of our muslim fundamentalist friends”, is done in sarcasm.

Heltau – Dammit, I forgot the sarc tag. But yeah, that was meant in jest.
