Muslim Brotherhood To Attend Obama Speech

Oh, that’s just fantastic. What better way to repair your dastardly country’s image in the eyes of the Muslim world than to have ten members of an Islamofascist organization in attendance?
The Muslim Brotherhood claims that they are not terrorists, but they did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Oh, and they have friends in very low places - like Hamas.
Egyptian lawmakers from the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood are expected to attend President Obama’s highly anticipated speech to the Muslim world Thursday in Cairo.
Khaled Hamza, editor of the Muslim Brotherhood Web site, confirmed to FOXNews.com that 10 members of the Brotherhood’s parliamentary bloc received official invitations to attend the speech.
Okay, two questions. First, who invited these scumbags to the Obama speech? Second, if Obama invited them - or knew of the invitations - why is he not doing everything in his power to keep them out?
The expected attendance of the Brotherhood members already is stirring some criticism from conservatives in the U.S. who say they do not represent the kind of moderate Muslims Obama should be appealing to.
“What kind of signal are we sending?” said Rep. Pete Hoekstra, ranking Republican on the House intelligence committee, warning that such an invitation will be seen more as a sign of weakness than strength. “I think the president takes some big risks by unilaterally putting out these olive branches.”
I am not a big fan of Hoekstra, but he makes an excellent point here. Obama can reach out to moderate Muslims all the live long day. Reaching out to extremists and terrorists? Stupid.
Though the hard-line group, which calls for an Islamic state and has close ties to the militant Hamas, is officially banned in Egypt, its members have considerable sway in the country and its lawmakers, who run as independents, hold 88 seats in Egypt’s 454-seat parliament. (H/T - FOXNews)
Oh, and for those of you interested, this is the motto of the Muslim Brotherhood:
“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
Just the type of people you would want at an historic speech, eh, Mr. President?

Presumably it was the Egyptian Government who invited/allowed them at the POTUS speech.
I doubt whether POTUS had much control as to who was sitting in on his speech at Cairo University …

Alan B - The article assumed that Obama did not personally invite them. Not really the point. The point is that he obviously didn’t have a problem with it, because he gave the speech.
And if you don’t think someone with the rock star status of Obama couldn’t do something about it, I don’t know what to tell you.

I was listening to a live broadcast of his speech this morning (while I was getting ready for work, so only heard parts of it). I was a bit disturbed by the stuff he said about Iran. Seriously.

They’d probably be surprised that despite being one of “the largest muslim nations” (durrr), their party only holds one seat in the US Congress at most (Ellison).

You might even argue that Nigeria is a little dodgy but 5th largest country with muslim majority sounds to me like “one of the largest muslim nations”.

Hmm I wonder if all the 57 states that obambi campaigned in…Oh..did I say states?.. I meant islamic nations were in attendence.
Why shouldn’t he have said, bringing up religion himself, within our basically Judeo-Christian nation we have a large mooselim population?
With further statements like this on the population of ones own country, you would think the prez ’should be’ up on things like this, (dontcha think?) , it makes me believe that his campaign misstatement was that much more Freudian Slippage. Now to be fair to those who desire peace, I am among them..really..this is kind of like General Crook calling the apaches down from the hills telling them we’re sorry we respect you etc., we’ll stop shooting the Ghost Dancers, etc. but get back on the reservation anyways.
I’ll give him this one..not..because I like him or think he’s not a damn statist facist, lets try it once. If the apaches keep raiding the towns stealing cattle, as an analogy, then lets wipe them out once and for all.
