How Bout Dem Cowboys!

By Wyatt Earp | January 12, 2010

Okay, I’m not really a Cowboys fan, but any team that can embarrass the Philadelphia Eagles is a winner in my book. White trash Eagles fans? Not so much:

Police are investigating a reported assault on a 27-year-old Bethlehem, Pa., woman as she was going to the convenience store Friday night.

The woman, who was wearing a Dallas Cowboys football jersey with quarterback Tony Romo’s name and number, said she was approached by a pair of guys in Philadelphia Eagles jersey.

She said one of them yelled, “Hey, Romo,” she turned around and she was whacked in the face, receiving a cut from the attack.

So let’s see: The Eagles choke in another big game, “star quarterback” Donovan McNabb proves Rush Limbaugh right again, and fat coach Andy Reid again shows why he should be in the unemployment line, but idiot Eagles fans are angry with Dallas Cowboys fans?

Maybe you morons should focus your rage where it belongs – at your hometown team. A-holes.

My Dad’s a big Eagles fan. Both he and I agree, and we always have, the McNabb is overrated and he’s simply a product of affirmative action at the QB position.

Mark – Sadly, if he goes they’re stuck with that felon Vick. I refuse to root for the Eagles until Reid and McNabb are gone.

Amazing to me that 2 men (a term I use loosely) would hit a woman they’ve never met, in the face over a football jersey! Whatever happened to sportsmanship and being gracious whether your team wins or loses? What a bunch of knuckle draggers.

Mrs. Crankipants – Maybe they thought she was attractive, and misunderstood the phrase, “I’d hit that.”

It appears there are more fans rooting for whomever is playing the Eagles in any game than are rooting for the hapless Eagles. McNabb should be circling the drain and somebody needs to pull the plug!!!

When your life sucks so bad that you find a highlight defending a football jersey, you have reallyt hit rock bottom. It is all summed up by the fans of the winning team in the Superbowl going out and burning and looting after the game. We are approaching the end of time as it was known. MUD

MeToo – Ooh, ooh, Mr. Kotter! Can I do it?!!!

MUD – I never understood that. When the Broncos won two Super Bowls in a row, I jumped up and down – and may or may not have sacrificed a virgin to John Elway. I never thought about going outside and burning down my neighborhood, but that’s just me.

Somewhere along the line the Eagles organization ticked off the football gods. It seems that when they have all the pieces in place on offense and defense they suddenly have a rash of injuries. When they aren’t quite there, but playing well, as they had been up to week 16, they find a team playing even better to whip them.

Maybe it was getting rid of the Vet and moving to Lincoln Financial Field that killed them.

CP – They don’t know how to play in a nice stadium. That has to be it.

Jeeez, I guess all the stories I have heard about Eagles fans, are true.

    Sad.

I love the Cowgirls, but I am also a realist about sports.

Teetop – It’s been like this since before I can remember. It won’t get better any time soon, either.

This kind of stuff gives all sports fans a bad name.

I live in Allentown, right on the border with Bethlehem, and there is even a funnier note to the story.

The woman with the Romo shirt managed to bitch slap one of her assailants and then the very brave Fleagle fans ran away. Seems, just about right for the Fleagles (kind of like McSlobb trying to run away from Deware).

I admit to being a 30+ year Eagles fan — those morons who attacked the woman are an embarrassment to mankind, not just Eagles fans like me. Hope they get locked up and forced to watch Cowboys highlights for the rest of their lives.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that over the years Eagles fans have done a lot to deserve the reputation they have. But having visited several other NFL stadiums wearing Eagles gear (Giants, Redskins, Steelers, Bears) I can also attest that other NFL fans give as good as they get from Eagles fans — but don’t get anywhere near the media attention.

Jeez Wyatt- you left out the part about the Eggles signing up an infamous pooch-snuffer as their backup QB.

I’m not particularly fond of the Cowboys either….

    Rick – It certainly does.

Watuschski – That sounds about right. Most idiot Eagles fans are puss-aahs.

Jim – Sadly, that’s because we are terrible in our own house. Who else has a game day judge holding court in the damned stadium?

Fenway_Nation – My son Kyle loves them, but I hate them, too. Of course, there is a rumor that McNabb may end up in Denver if he is let go, and that gives me the sweats.
