Slow And Steady Wins The Race

By Wyatt Earp | October 25, 2008

Or something like that.

Week Two of getting back on the diet wagon produced the same results. I did a decent job of making Weight Watchers points, but my exercise was lacking. Of course, the pinched nerve in my neck was responsible for that.

No excuses, but I couldn’t run or ride the bike in my condition. Hopefully, I’ll be cleared to do that this week. (And on a related note, it’s frickin’ cold outside. Too cold to take my daily bike ride. I think I’m back to jogging.)

The scale, that bastard, looked up at me and read: 199 pounds. I am not gaining weight, but I am not losing, either, and that is unacceptable. I have to do better, especially with the Christmas bikini season coming up on us.

I am now three pounds heavier than I was on June 30th. Again: unacceptable. Back to work.

RT – Not directed at anyone. Just thought it was funny.

Old NFO – I gotta get out . . . like yesterday. Neck feels better, so I am hoping to walk tomorrow.

Kim – I’ll be doing better when I break 196.

Now that you’re feeling better, is this where we get to start nagging you? (just kidding)
I might have to go look for another motivational picture to help you along though ;)
    Stay positive and keep focused

Yeah, those scales are all in cahoots. It’s frustrating when you’ve been watching what you eat, working hard and doing exercise and all only to step on the scale and find it 1) hasn’t moved downward at all or 2) shows you’ve gained weight.

I was stuck for nearly two weeks. I’m semi-convinced that the fall is the worst time to try and lose weight because we have it in our genes (I could have said jeans) to gain weight for the hard times of winter.

But you’re right on one thing: Slow and steady wins the race. Stick with it.
