Detective Finds Stolen Gun In Bathroom

Because doesn’t everyone hide their stolen booty in the terlet?

JENSEN BEACH, Fla - Authorities said a stolen gun was recovered when a detective tried to use the suspect’s bathroom and couldn’t get the toilet to work. A detective investigating the theft of a handgun, jewelry and cash from a Jensen Beach home was told a possible suspect might be staying at a Port St. Lucie hotel.

The detective met with a 21-year-old suspect and during an interview, the detective asked to use the man’s bathroom.

When the detective couldn’t get the toilet to flush, he took off the tank cover to see what the problem was. That’s when he found the handgun and three magazines with bullets. (H/T - CBS3)

Well, it could have been worse: The suspect could have hidden the items in the toilet bowl and the detective could have found them after making a number two!

OK, first: How bad did the detective have to go to use a suspect’s throne? I mean really, doesn’t that rank up there with the truck stop restrooms?!

But more importantly, does Tidy Bowl dissolve fingerprints? Jus’ sayin’.

Isn’t there some kind of officer safety rule about dropping your pants near a possibly armed suspect? Just asking? Again I am only a rookie, and I am trying to learn from my better’s experience.

    Deanna - Ba-dump-bump!

Supermom - 1. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go. Maybe he “hovered” over the toilet?

    2. It’s blue. It may bring them out! :)

Marvin - You would think he would be focused upon the task at hand, but hey, it worked out for an arrest.
