Thief Steals Donation Jar For Cassidy Family

By Wyatt Earp | December 11, 2007

The person who did this deserves the death penalty, in my opinion.

Philadelphia Police said a brazen burglar stole a donation jar being used to raise funds for the family of a fallen officer.

Authorities said the thief crawled through the drive-thru window of a Dunkin’ Donuts at 66th and Broad Streets in West Oak Lane, the same location where Officer Chuck Cassidy was fatally shot during a Halloween robbery.

Despite the fact the jar was secured, the thief was able to escape out a back window before responding officers arrived at the scene early Friday morning. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s and he was reportedly wearing a knit cap and work jacket.

The jar is believed to have contained approximately $30. (H/TCBS3)

So, not only does this filthy animal steal Chuck’s donation jar, but he also has the wontons to do it at the very store where Chuck was assassinated. Amazingly, this is not the only time this crime has been attempted. Similar donation jars have been targeted three previous times in different stores across the city.

I hate this city.
