The First Green Lantern Trailer

By Wyatt Earp | December 16, 2010

I found this at Ace of Spades, and I still don’t know what to think of it. It looks good, but like Ace said, the Lantern’s suit looks a little, um, off. Take a gander and tell me what you think.

I can deal with Green Lantern’s suit a lot better than the soundtrack from The Green Hornet. Have you heard that “rap crap” they use in the trailer? I can’t wait until G.H. comes out on DVD… so I can mute it and read the subtitles. No way will I watch it in a theatre, where the volume level exceeds that of a war zone.

Ryan Reynolds is just so…smarmy. Ugh.

Robert: Just remember that the people who make the trailers aren’t the same people who make the movies. Often the trailers are assembled before the movie is scored, so they use whatever music they think will put the most backsides in the theater chairs.

Reynolds not my choice for Hal Jordan; lacks gravitas. But if you’d told me Michael Keaton is Batman a few years back…

I like that they’re bring in the alien Lanterns. Kilowog rocks!

When I was a kid Green Lantern was my favorite of them all. he could do anything that Superman, Flash, Green Arrow, Batman or whomever could do. As long as that ring was charged. “In brightest day or darkest night, let no evil escape my sight, beware the power, Green lanterns light”

Now in case Picky comes back, thats the best I can do from memory:) LOL

I think Marvel’s got it all over DC Comics when it comes to bringing characters to the big screen. That said, This one might be worth seeing…

Suit looks like it was designed bythe same people that did the George Clooney version of Batman.

    Still waiting for Captain America….

    Wyatt:
Looks like they’re sticking to the origin story OK…
And of course the SFX will be great.

I think that glowing lantern ON the uniform needs to go, though.
They should keep the original costume as in the comics.
And I hope they don’t go with the whole “oh, wow, I’m a superhero!” gig…
Let him deal with it in a more mature way.
    After all, he’s a damn TEST PILOT..not a teenager.
And, he’s no billionaire arms-manufacturer, either.
    Keep it REAL.

I would hope they tackle the GH with a more “darker” aspect…like The Shadow.

We can wait and we can see.

    ;)

Robert B. – When they cast Seth Rogen, I lost interest. I think they’re gonna try and make the Green Hornet a slapstick comedy.

GroovyVic – Not smarmy enough to keep me away from the theater, though. I’ll probably see the film.

Proof – I remember Iron Man used AC/DC’s Back in Black: Possibly the greatest rock song of all time.

Richard – Same thing with Christian Bale and Heath Ledger in the new Batman films. I thought they were terrible choices, and I was proven completely wrong.

Jon – I hope they do a good job. The trailer looks great.

LDIV – I’m probably in, too.

Roger – Superman Returns was terrible. The new Batman films are awesome, but Marvel (Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man) has dominated.

    Ferrell – 2011, I think.

Dr. Evil – Yeah, sweet addition. And the man who played Jango Fett is Abin SUr.

Bob G – I figure if the uniform is the only thing that bothers me, that’s not too bad.

Saw this very same trailer at the movies last week. Sorry, but it doesn’t make me want to run out to see the movie.
Think I’ll wait for Godzilla and Transformers 3 next year.

Uncle Ray – I haven’t seen Transformers 2 yet. I want to see Tron: Legacy, though.
