Another Opponent To HopeyChange

By Wyatt Earp | January 26, 2010

Remember all of that feel-good, rainbow and unicorn happiness that rolled in with Barack Obama’s election? He promised that the world would love America again because he is the one we have been waiting for. Eh, not so much. Just one year after Obama’s inauguration, Iran is calling him the N-word, the People’s Republic of Massachusetts elects a Republican senator, and even Lefty moonbats are angry at their Lightbringer. Nowadays, it seems like you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting someone who is sick of President Obama

This week’s disenfranchisement? Indonesia.

Looks like some folks in Indonesia are as sick of this guy as we are:

Indonesian authorities said Monday they are considering a petition to tear down a statue of US President Barack Obama as a boy, only a month after the bronze was unveiled in Jakarta.

The statue of “Little Barry” — as Obama was known when he lived in the capital in the late 1960s — stands in central Jakarta’s Menteng Park, a short walk from the US president’s former elementary school.

The fact that there is a statue to begin with is pretty ridiculous. The man has been in office for one year, and to be honest, he hasn’t done jack.

Critics say the site should have been used to honour an Indonesian and 55,000 people have joined a page on social networking website Facebook calling for the statue to be removed.

“Barack Obama has yet to make a significant contribution to the Indonesian nation. We could say Obama only ate and (expletive) in Menteng. He spent his subsequent days living as an American,” the web page says.

Ouch! Now, I’m no big fan of Facebook – tried it, didn’t like it – but the page has 55,000 members! Not every one of them can be bitter, gun-clinging, racist right-wingers.

Perhaps they could raffle off tickets. Each winner get one whack with the sledge hammer.

That is some funny stuff. Never build a statue of or name a building, airport, freeway or bridge after someone until after they are dead. It can only lead to a change of heart when history is played out.

Don’t you know the 55,000 people are really just a dozen people that have registered under a bunch of different names?

    Rob – I think he’s from Iceland.

Old NFO – Absolutely. The SOTU address ought to be a barnburner, though.

Mrs. Crankipants – And the rainbows.

Joated – Ooh, sign me up!

Ingineer66 – Or at least wait until the man is out of office.

Kim – They all registered under “Ellie Light.”

Click on the picture to biggify it and look at his hand. It was not meant to hold that flag pole. The flag’s a prop added for the photo.

No biggie, just something I noticed.

That is a disgrace since the Obamination is a Kenyan.

Kaveman – The statue was originally built to hold Michelle’s face mask . . .

Watuschskie – Not true. He hasn’t won the Chicago Marathon yet! Heh.

Barry, Shelli and the kids were planning a trip to the once upon a time homeland later this year. Better move it up if he wants to see himself in bronze as a kid. What is a narcissist to do when people stop playing along?

I don’t know why they made that thing; it looks like an underage lawn jockey.

    underage lawn jockey.

Heh. Good one! Maybe if Indonesia takes it down, they can put one of those rings in his hand and auction it off and send the proceeds to Haiti?

This is just nuts! I had no idea they had put a statue up. Of course no big suprise that people are getting pissed about him. hehehe

There is a Tea Party politician Mario someone who said he didn’t believe in personality politics for this very reason. He also said it was very third world-ish. I agree completely.

People are never happy when they create an ideal (even if it’s not what I would call ideal) in their head and they have to watch it go down the drain.

Too bad Obama fans. Didn’t you realize he’s just another self serving politicain?

Ron Paul rates better in my book. At least that man has his head on straight.
