It’s New Year’s Eve

By Wyatt Earp | December 31, 2009

Most people either reflect back upon the passing year or look ahead to the new year ahead. 2009 wasn’t the best year ever – what with the cancer and all – so I’ll look ahead to the new year and post a few of my resolutions for 2010. You know, the ones I’ll surely break by January 2nd. Here goes.

1. An injury-free hockey season. I haven’t played a full season since 2006. In 2007, I missed three months from a knee injury. In 2008, I missed two months after my appendectomy. In 2009, I missed a month after my cancer surgery. It would be nice if I could stay off the IR this year, but now that I jinxed myself, I’ll probably suffer a horrendous vacuuming injury.

2. A completely hairless 2010. Being a guy is a real chore. When you get older, hair starts coming out from everywhere. The ears, the back, the toes. It’s pretty disgusting, and since I’m a dainty little gunfighter, I will ramp up my hair removal techniques. I’m pretty sure a weekly Nair bath will do the trick.

3. Less “I” sores on the blog. Since SYLG is a fairly personal blog, I talk about myself a lot. I realize that I talk about me far too much, and maybe you don’t want to hear me talk about me. So I figured I would talk less about me (and I) in an effort to help you enjoy my blog – which is sometimes about me . . . I think. I do not want myself to dominate my posts, and I would like to take action. I hope you like my solution, and you can let me know if I am doing a good enough job moving the topic away from me (and I).

So, anyone else have resolutions you want to share?
