Dog The Bounty Hunter Shot At In Colorado

By Wyatt Earp | April 22, 2009

Dog The Bounty HunterUm, he’s a frickin’ bounty hunter! And not a very good one at that, in my opinion. Isn’t he supposed to be shot at?!

Why is this news???

Who is in charge here???

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Police in Colorado say shots were fired at TV bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman and a bail bondsman when they tried to apprehend a man whose bail was revoked on an attempted murder charge.

Yeah, maybe “Dog” should stick to chasing scofflaws.

Colorado Springs police Sgt. Roger Vargason says the two were attempting to take 35-year-old Hoang Nguyen into custody at an apartment complex Tuesday night when Nguyen shot at them at least once with a handgun and fled on a motorcycle.

No injuries were reported.

Vargason says initial reports showed Chapman and the bondsman were armed only with paintball guns. ()

Paintball guns. Against an attempted murder suspect. Ya know, if he were shot, his stupidity would outweigh the tragedy.

I’m just sayin’.

Paint ball guns??? Oh what the hell! Why not use a boomerang, or something with a little more flare.

As long as the paint ball ammo had red paint, totally understandable. Any other color would be reckless and stupid.

Unfrikkinbelieveable… Of course if the “dog” got shot in the head, he’d be fine, as there is obviously nothing up there but air…

Oh yeah, Happy 40th Old Man :-)

Just for clarification, the paintball gun is loaded with pepper balls (iirc) and he can’t carry a regular gun because he’s a convicted felon. It would be illegal for him to carry a firearm. (So we have an ex-con chasing criminals.)

And yeah, I’m not surprised he got shot. I’m just surprised it didn’t happen before now.

I’ve seen the show all of once and was underwhelmed.

heh.. what a tool. Didn’t anyone ever tell him you never bring paintballs to a gun fight?!

I remember watched a couple episodes of that a couple years ago, and all they had was Mace or some other kind of pepper spray. Maybe they got into some trouble with that and had to downgrade.

I also remember him wearing some kind of lanyard supported ‘badge’, star shaped that resembled something warn by a Texas Ranger or US Marshal.. probably just said “I’m a wannabe LEO” on it, and “Made in China” on the back.

ahh yeah, as Kim stated, that’s what I suspected.

    I don’t understand something.

Arrested 18 times for armed robbery, convicted of murder, sentenced to 5 years, and paroled after 2? How on earth did that happen?

DL474 – The boomerang is for Dog The Outback Bounty Hunter.

    Kaveman – Like pink?

Old NFO – Thank you, sir!

Kim – Heh, heh, “pepper balls.” That was my nickname in high school!

Smite – The original Junior G-Man badge.

Kim – Welcome to America. Sad, isn’t it?

Daisy – Yeah, it was good stuff.

Deanna – Probably. Boring audiences for far too many years now.

Glad everyone is OK, even if I think “The Dog” is in the wrong line of work. I’m sure he means well, but I always wondered about how he went about things. I could go into a big lot rant about how I think his ways are strange, but this is Wyatt’s blog.

I agree with Dragonlady..a flare gun at a few paces would do the trick. However explaining that burned down apartment complex might get tough.
