Caroline Kennedy Eying Hillary’s Senate Seat

Because, you know, her father was president 45 years ago, so she is clearly qualified.
What’s the matter, New York? Were Al Sharpton, Don Imus, and “Grampa” Al Lewis all unavailable? Hell, you guys should just choose Ashley Dupre’ – at least she has political experience. She “cleaned the pipes” of Governor Eliot Spitzer!
NEW YORK – Caroline Kennedy, daughter of slain President John F. Kennedy, is considering pursuing the New York Senate seat Hillary Clinton will vacate to become secretary of state, The New York Times reported on Friday.
“I believe that she is considering it,” the newspaper quoted Kennedy’s cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as saying, adding he had spoken to her about the matter during the past week.
“A lot of people the last couple of weeks have urged her to do it,” added Kennedy, another member of the Kennedy Democratic political dynasty. He recently removed himself from consideration for the seat, once held by his father, Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968 while running for president.
New York Democratic Gov. David Paterson, who is responsible for choosing Clinton’s replacement, told the newspaper he discussed the Senate seat on Wednesday with Caroline Kennedy, a 51-year-old lawyer. He characterized the conversation as “informational.” (H/T – )
When did this nonsense become the “in” thing to do in politics? Just pick up someone off the street and have them run for a high office? Is this what America is coming to?
Someone take this down. In the event of my untimely death, I decree that my newborn daughter, Julia Elizabeth, will immediately take over SYLG. It does not matter if she can write well – or even write – and it does not matter if she even wants the position. She will get it anyway. Sure, she has no blogging experience, but she is related to me. That should assure quality posts for years to come.
