Putin Blames U.S. For Georgia Invasion

By Wyatt Earp | August 28, 2008

Because, you know, we held a gun to Putin’s head.

The truly sad part about this accusation is that there will be plenty of people who believe Putin’s charges. If you check back in an hour, you’ll see a lot of them commenting here.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has accused the US of provoking the conflict in Georgia, possibly for domestic election purposes.

Mr Putin told CNN US citizens were “in the area” during the conflict over South Ossetia and were “taking direct orders from their leaders”.

He said his defence officials had told him the provocation was to benefit one of the US presidential candidates.

That’s right, kids. Putin, the uber-trustworthy former KGB agent, blames the Republicans for forcing them to invade Georgia and murder civilians.

“The suspicion arises that someone in the United States especially created this conflict with the aim of making the situation more tense and creating a competitive advantage for one of the candidates fighting for the post of US president.” (H/TBBC)

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Putin is not talking about the Obama camp. Maybe George Bush is to blame? I mean, his detractors believe he is an idiot and a dullard, but at the same time they believe he is the mastermind behind 9-11, worldwide oil prices, and the popularity of Miley Cyrus. I’m sure forcing Russia to invade a former Soviet Republic is not out of his purview.

Okay America haters, have at it. You may begin to agree with Putin in 5 . . 4 . . 3 . .

I already had a live action debate on the subject. It’s a hazzard of living in MA.

The jist was that the CIA was behind the whole thing in order to provoke a war with Russia. Oh, and they were happy that Putin is willing to be a counterbalance to Bush.

I’m in the process of rolling my eyes back out of my head.

So the KGB takes orders from the CIA, yea…. It all makes perfect sense now. I just need to do more mental gymnastics to have these thoughts on my own.

I’m sorry. I very seldom agree with anyone who’s name sounds like a bodily function. This time is no exception.

I guess the US is the new Devil…you know, the Devil made us do it.

    [gag]

Putin recently rented “Wag The Dog” from Netflix.

It is funny how certain countries still treat us like we are waging a cold war, yet they are seeking to do it themselves.

So many people saying so many things to the press that I have been continuing to ignore – I like the babe in red so much better than Putin’s face… Newsweek put Obama and Biden smiling on the cover, then serious inside the cover – reminds me of Putin’s grin (it doesn’t exist). Yeah, the babe in red is worth a second look and I don’t prefer blonds but I wish her very well.
