Suge Knight Arrested In Las Vegas

Smile, Suge!

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas . . . until you post bail.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Marion “Suge” Knight was jailed Wednesday on assault and drug charges after he was accused of beating his girlfriend while brandishing a knife near the Las Vegas Strip, police said.

In fairness to Suge, a man’s gotta keep his pimp hand high.

Knight, 43, posted $19,000 bail and was scheduled to be released late Wednesday with a promise to appear September 26 in Las Vegas Justice Court, a court spokeswoman said.

Police said the founder of bankrupt Death Row Records was arrested about 6:40 a.m. after officers arrived at the scene of a minor traffic accident and found Knight hitting a woman in a parking lot off a busy thoroughfare.

I wonder if he’ll go to death row for this incident. Nah, probably not. Well, if anything, this will bump up his “street cred” within the industry. That’s something, right Suge?

“A citizen sees the beating in a parking lot; police get there fast; they see him beating her. It’s a good, solid case,” Las Vegas police Lt. Chris Carroll said.

The woman was not stabbed, but she was treated at a hospital for injuries that Carroll said were not life-threatening.

“This is a very large man,” Carroll said, estimating his weight at more than twice the woman’s. “He was on top of her, actually in the act of violently beating her when the officers arrived, with the knife in his hand.” (H/TCNN)

In a perfect world, Knight would be charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of a crime, and reckless endangerment of another person. My guess is that he will be charged with most of these (or similar) charges.

What do you think he’ll be convicted of?

This is so good for his image… plays right into his record company’s label and gives him publicity. Sick! Sick! Sick!

Deanna – Apparently, any time your rap career needs a boost, you just have to spend some time in cuffs.

He won’t do a day in jail – doubt he’ll be convicted. With our current criminal justice system, the justice is for those who have money and can buy good lawyers. The rest of us are at the mercy of the courts.

By the time this thing goes to trial (if it makes it that far), any witnesses will have memory lapses, the upstanding woman will swear it was HER on top of HIM beating him to a pulp and the prosecutor will drop the charges…

Ok, so I’m synical. Maybe the outcome won’t be as disgusting as I think it will be lol…

Oh he’ll plead to disorderly conduct, get a light tap on the wrist and go free to beat up some other dumb woman.

I think he was released from jail not too long ago, so he might have actually violated parole or something (not sure how all of that works).

His attachment in some manner to violent events seems to be his forte, though.

Convicted? Hell, he’ll probably end up suing da’ po-lees for brunality, violinin’ his Sybil Blights and false attest— and win.
