Attack Of The Paulbots

By Wyatt Earp | June 14, 2008

Don’t you hate it when a plan does not come together? That’s what I was thinking when Ron Paul decided to finally drop out of the GOP race . . . only a day before my FSM article was to be published. Dang.

Oh well, I’ve asked you to suspend belief before - like when I asked you to think of me as a funny writer - and you came through for me then. I’m sure you can convince yourselves that Ron Paul hasn’t dropped out of the race yet. Hell, the Paulbots still believe he’ll win the nomination . . .

And speaking of His Paulness:

Are you an angry, gun-toting loner who thinks that the government is chock full of conspiracies and cover-ups? Do you yearn for a simpler time when Americans could vote for anyone on the planet, whether they are running for office or not? Are you a big fan of cyborgs? If so, than this story may be right up your survival bunker:

“Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is planning a daylong rally in Minnesota during the Republican National Convention that could draw attention from the presumed nominee John McCain.

The Texas congressman with a devoted following has tentatively reserved the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota on September 2, the second day of the GOP convention.”

Some of you may be thinking, “Why hasn’t this guy conceded the race yet?” That is a good question. A better question would be, “Is Ron Paul still running?” The answer to the second question is, obviously, yes. The answer to the second question is a bit more complicated.

You can read the rest of the (hopefully, not dated) goodness HERE.

Sorry Paul Bots, but this guy is as full of crap as Obama. “Oh, I didn’ t know the newsletter with my name on it was printing racist articles”. Sorry Ron, any credibility you had went out the window when you responded to that allegation.

“I hate the gooks.” - John McCain

C.P. - If he didn’t know, then he looks like the bigger fool.

    RT - Heh, thanks.

Brian - If anyone deserved to say something like that, it was McCain, who spent five and a half years being tortured by the Vietnamese for your freedom.

John McCain was a brave warrior but he sacrificed nothing for my freedom. American politicians, not me, sent him off to Vietnam based on a Gulf of Tonkin lie and no attempt by yourself or others to revise history will change that. There was no imminent threat to our freedom. His country shipped him there because they didn’t give a damn about him initially. Get your facts straight.

Actually Brian, they sent him, and others, there on the premise that stopping the spread of communism was important to US and regional security.

Unfortunately, politicians, not warriors made too many decisions concerning that war. Had they let the leaders lead, instead of worrying about political fall out, Saigon would still be Saigon, and the North would have been waxed by 1968.

McCain, and many others did freely what they thought was their duty to their country. No amount of badmouthing and whining by you and others change that.

If McCain has no resentment about the Gulf of Tonkin lie then good for him. As an American citizen I do and many Vietnam veterans (I am not one) surely do. Anytime politicians ship our young men and women off to war corrupt control freak politicians destroy guaranteed Constitutional liberties permanently here at home. We lose our freedom and our rights. It is not whining. It is historical fact. And you don’t know that about Saigon; you are only speculating.

“I will not remain silent in order to protect my hero’s status nor will I forfeit my conscience to hide the truth under a shroud of patriotism. I believe the world has a right to hear my story. And I believe it is my duty as an American, a veteran and a man, to tell the truth. The fact that I contributed to what history will someday remember as a societal travesty on par with Nazi Germany’s Holocaust will torment me for the rest of my life.

I can not rely on the “only following orders” rationale to offset my guilt, take back my deeds, or justify my involvement. So my only choice is to share with others and to be honest. And I hope some of the other guys interviewed in this piece share my motivation. I want our troops to come home now. Instead, we argue amongst ourselves while our elected leaders are allowed to let politics trump moral reason. Meanwhile, the human cost of this war will continue its deadly toll, the hatred of America will grow, and the chances for a lasting peace will fade…and then, what will we do? Hopefully, the world will forgive us.

    And that’s the truth.”

Brian - You’re still here? Feel free to comment as often as you like, but my readership usually ignores people who come here looking for a fight.

I’ve stated my case. Feel free to go back “spoofing” true American patriots like Ron Paul. As a lawman, you are lucky. Your rights will never get stomped on for political purposes. Let’s hope…?

A better question would be, “Is Ron Paul still running?”

Google it. You’ll see something with a familiar URL at about result #5. (Results bounce around a little, and vary from place to place) I can tell you from having a front page ranking, very many people ask the great and wise google guru that very question on a daily basis.

But he finally did bail on the race. I guess I was right that the Ronulans would have better spent their money by burning it.

So, Brian, which of your rights have been stomped for political purposes.

Brian - Thanks! It’s a great gig over there at FSM, read by lots and lots of people. It’ll be more difficult now that the Paulminator has left, but . . .

Fiar - Hey, that’s you!!! Look at the Fitch Man atop the Google rankings!

C.P. - The guy lives in The People’s Republic of Massachusetts. I’m sure the libs are stomping all over people there.
