Kate Winslet Shows Off Her “Real Body”

I love Kate Winslet. I always have. I love her gorgeous face, her British accent, and her real curves. Now, she’s flaunting her “real body” in a new ad campaign.
Kate Winslet may not be a size zero, but that won’t stop her from forging a successful modeling career. The actress showed off her curves as the new face of U.S knitwear label St. John for their 2011 autumn campaign.
Kate says: “With St. John You can look extremely chic without trying too hard. You don’t feel as though they are clothes that only a model would be able to wear. And obviously I am not a model, I don’t have a model’s body, I have a real shape.”
And I thank you for it, Kate.

It’s amazing to me that this standard of beauty is considered inferior by fashion magazines, NYT’s fashion section, fashion designers, etc, all of whom prefer a woman to have minimal body fat, and thus, very little indication of a woman’s features.
I have heard a theory that it’s because a woman with low body fat looks like a young boy vaguely, but I think that’s a little silly. I think it’s just a runaway glitch in fashion, where everyone outdoes the last guy.
Either way, what a bunch of brain-dead conformists. It’s only natural that this kind of figure is more appealing than the skeleton look.
