Minnesota Illegals Fired From Jobs

By Wyatt Earp | December 12, 2010

Dozens of illegal immigrants were fired from their jobs this week after ICE challenged many of the workers’ immigration status. Most of the firings were from the Chipotle restaurant, which thought it acceptable to hire criminals.

Naturally, a Minnesota libtard rights group is up in arms over the firings.

A Minnesota immigration rights group is protesting what it calls “mass firings” of Chipotle workers. According to the group, around 50 of the restaurant’s Latino workers have been fired in the last week.

The Minnesota Immigration Rights Action Committeee (MIRAC), a local group that fights for the legalization of undocumented workers, says employees at local Chipotle stores came forward, saying they were fired over questions about their immigration status.

“We started to piece together there was something larger going on than a few people fired at one store,” said MIRAC member Brad Sigal. “It appears to be a statewide attack on immigrant worker who are longtime employees most of them been working there for years.”

“It is an I-9 audit,” said Sigal. “They check the paperwork and fire anyone who can’t immediately prove they have the right to work. An action like this on a mass scale before the holidays is not consistent with the image they have cultivated.”

Exit question: Why do immigration groups think that illegals even have rights?

For the same reason our President thinks enemy combatants captured in other countries have US Constitutional rights. Liberals are all worried about the law-breakers rights instead of our rights as a society.

Oh, it gets worse. I understand the Philly PD even locks up armed felons as late as Christmas Eve! Where is your Brotherly Love, oh City?

But, Sir! This is a Mexican restaurant! That means Mexicans are supposed to be working here, right? I thought I was just supposed to look at racial profiling. I didn’t know I was supposed to check papers as well.

So now enforcing the law is considered an attack?

What numbskulls like Brad fail to realize is that these longtime immigrant workers pay little or no taxes and suck up social services.

Well, yay Chipotle is all I can say.

now I want the ICE to focus on all the damn ITALIAN restaurants . . . my paisanos are so cheap, they only use illegal (and blood-related) labor . . .

Ingineer66 – I see an argument for human rights, but they have no rights we as citizens do. Get the frak out and enjoy your rights when you get legal.

Richard – I have never done that. Ever. No one should have to do unnecessary paperwork on a major holiday.

DL474 – I still hate Brett Favre, but I like Minnesota now.

Kim – I’d rather some of my fellow Slovaks work there and wing it.

Dusrtvet – And Senator Al Franken.

Mrs. Crankipants – Well, we’re profiling them because they’re illegal!

Orchid – But they make some fantastic food. Just sayin’.

Our rights as citizens trump in this. Not to mention the LAW.

But don’t you understand, ORPO (and Wyatt)? Those illegals are themselves “de facto Americans,” as one congressional Democrat blowhard put it during the Dream Act debate a couple of days ago. They’ve got “rights,” too.

Meanwhile, while it’s wrong to ask illegals for ID – either at the border or at the workplace – it’s OK to demand that actual, native-born, de jure American citizens present their genitalia for inspection before being allowed to board a domestic airline flight.

I fear this country isn’t even going to make it to the next election before the body politic just blows the hell up.

Proof – Gotta love those Minnesota accents.

OPRO1 – Not anymore. This is the new America, dontcha know?

Wes S. – In Philly, we cannot ask about immigration status. We’ve been told as such. Nice, huh?
