Barack Obama: Liar

By Wyatt Earp | December 14, 2010

President Barack Obama has a credibility problem. While he was never popular with conservatives, he always had the hearts and minds of America’s liberals. That hero worship took some major hits in the last two years, leading up to a full-scale revolt after this week’s tax-cut plan. Democrats from New York to California are losing faith with Dear Leader, and the president is employing drastic measures to win back their trust.

Trust. That’s a funny concept for someone who lies as often as Barack Obama. Take this story, where Obama claimed he would take “the fight” to the GOP next year. His number one target? The Bush tax cuts.

“When they expire in two years, I will fight to end them,” Obama said. “Just as I suspect the Republican Party may fight to end the middle-class tax cuts that I’ve championed and that they’ve opposed.”

That’s a lie, and he knows it.

Gabriel Malor at Ace of Spades hits us with some knowledge:

The truth, of course, is that the “middle class” cuts have always been part of the Republican proposal.

Democrats excel at “framing” issues in such a way as to obscure the truth. They have to be good at this because most of the time their proposals are so awful, if people knew what they were really about, they’d freak. This is no different. Let’s “unframe” what the Democrats want when it comes to the Bush tax cuts: “We want to raise taxes.”

Ya know, I read a lot of news, watch a lot of TV, and listen to both talk and news radio. I have never, ever heard a member of the GOP claim that middle-class tax cuts were not an option in the Republican plan. Ever. They wanted – and still want – to keep the tax cuts in place for everyone. They also want to try their hand at a novel idea in 2011: spending cuts.

Obama knows this, yet he decided to lie about the GOP position. I wonder why?

The Bamster is just reading from the Democratic playbook , Say a lie enough times and you start to believe it yourself. Just like “tax cut”. No ones taxes are being cut. They are holding off tax increases for two years. Oh,, I forgot, there is a 2% payroll tax “cut”. Guard your pockets, they’ll find another way to get it…

Liberals remind me of Anton Checkov on Star Trek, everything per Ensign Checkov was thought of, invented by, or made possible by the Wussians. Everything good and fuzzy and wonderful and warm and right..blah blah blah…per obambi is made possible only by the liberals.
I am soooo sick and tired of their lying eyes.

DL474 – All politicians lie, but he seems particularly adept at it.

Ajdshootist – He is above and beyond all other liars.

BobG – And who are we to argue with the facts?

Dr. Evil – Here ya go. Dateline Philadelphia: The Phillies signed Cliff Lee today, forever silencing Philly crybabies who always claimed the Yankees and Red Sox “bought” titles.

Rick – Even his teleprompter knows when he’s lying.

Roger – And don’t forget the tax increase that will come on January 1 with the new ObamaCare fees.

Jon – Two more years. Gonna be a long time.

I sooooo miss Reagan. His first budget was a 10% across the board reduction in each department’s (of government) budgets. I remember a LOT of whining from just about everyone, but somehow the cuts were instituted and the government continued to operate. When the next Prez takes over, may he (or she) have the cajones to do the same.

    Jon – And in one month . . . .

Robert B. – I loved the fact the some GOP reps were debating taking away funding for NPR. Bout damned time.

Dusrtvet – (Junior) Used Car Salesman.

I’m sorry, but I can’t let this go uncorrected. In an above comment, Jon Brooks references “Anton Chekov on Star Trek”

The Russian character on Star Trek was PAVEL Chekov. Anton Chekov was a 19th century Russian author.

The actor that played Chekov on Star Trek WAS named Walter Koenig, but interestingly enough the NEW Chekov actor (in the new Star Trek movie) is named Anton Yelchin.

Wyatt…..I think I remember having the misfortune of being in the same room as the 2004 Dem presidential candidates when they were on TV.

The question of the Bush tax cuts came up from the moderator, and right away the Mos Eisley-esque nest of vipers started hissing and mewling about ‘tax cuts for the rich’…..except for John Kerry….who said the middle class tax cuts were HIS idea and he’d be in favor of keeping them

Picky – No worries. Clarity is a good thing, and I didn’t catch it – although I probably should have.

Fenway – We dodged such a huge bullet when he wasn’t elected.

Thanks Picky, your SN suits you well:) LOL Now that my self esteem has been crushed, I must banish myself or join the democratic party. My only defense is that at my age it is sheer luck that I even remember it was Star Trek:)
