Atlantic City Police want to know who’s responsible for hateful graffiti discovered Labor Day on a boardwalk pavilion.
Swastikas and racial slurs were found Monday morning on several columns in the pavilion, which provides shade and benches for people on the boardwalk. It is located at Columbia Avenue in the resort’s Chelsea section. It’s not clear if the graffiti was intended to target anyone in particular.
Okay, let me say this about that. In my experience, vandalism like this is the result of punk kids 95% of the time. Teenage morons who are trying to be funny. Now before you send your hate mail, I am not making light of the swastikas and racial slurs – I’m just saying that this is not some evil plot by the “master race.” It’s kids.

Now, now. Let’s not be hasty. The innocent children are showing that the swastikas are really just being used to help heal the racial tension and hate that exists in the poor, depressed city. Right?
(I have way too much random knowledge in my head. Including the history of the swastika and it’s use in hundreds of cultures covering thousands of years. Yet, I can’t seem to find my keys.)

I tend to agree that it’s probably one or a few kids moreso than a movement. It’s kind of like the Afghanis protesting a church in Florida’s “Burn a Koran” day.
Occasionally someone will put a swastika in a port-a-john on one of our construction sites- next time I’ll call Katie Couric.
