Lisa Kelly: Ice Road Looker

By Wyatt Earp | July 7, 2010

The History Channel is one of my favorite haunts. Like the Discovery Channel, you can’t help but learn something while watching. Of course, the reality shows are pretty great, too. Take Ice Road Truckers, for example. Crazy drivers driving the big rigs on a tenuous ice road? Yeah, that’s entertainment.

Lisa Kelly is one of those crazy drivers, and she is also very entertaining – more so when she vamps it up.

Remember this shot — because the chances of seeing “Ice Road Truckers” star Lisa Kelly glamming it up again are as remote as the frozen Canadian roads she navigates on History Channel’s popular series.

“That was fun, but it was very cold out,” Kelly says of her photo shoot, which leads to the inevitable question of how she feels about her sex-symbol status as the only female driver on “Truckers.”

“I don’t know. I don’t know what other people are gonna think,” says Kelly, 28. “It’s interesting to put a woman’s twist on [‘Ice Road Truckers’] and if that’s how I’m perceived, well, it’s not up to me.”

Well, my perception of her is that she’s hot enough to melt the ice road, but that’s just me. Ice Road Truckers is a damned good show on its own. It just got better when Lisa showed up.

Actually, I kind prefer the picture of her not being all glammed up.

    Just me I suppose.

This sounds like a great show and if still had the History Channel, I would most definitely watch.

But no, F***in’ Comcast has to bump the History Channel to their premium package and we wind up with CSPAN F***in’ 3. So, I miss out on this babe and instead am forced to watch Bwarney Frank, Chris Dodd and Harry Reid Blovitate.

Thanks Comcast. I will be in touch with AT&T soon.

Ferrell – She looks great, either way. Natural beauty in my opinion. As for Comcast: frak them. We dumped their sorry asses for DirecTv years ago. We don’t get Phillies and Flyers games anymore, but I couldn’t care less.

She’s a cutie, but there’s no way I’m watching a TV show about people driving trucks on ice. I can see that in person every winter. Minus the hot girl, of course.

John D – It’s better than you think. It’s no Deadliest Catch, but it’s good.

Rick – Yeah, a few angles of that top photo would ease my pain.

After years of not giving a damn about reality shows, I find myself almost proud to say that I was watching Ice Road Truckers from the get-go and I knew about Lisa Kelly from the start of season 3…..I figured it was only a matter of time before she got dolled up for some sort of photo shoot. I haven’t seen too much from this season, but I do remember that she had some pretty difficult loads last season that she handled without much problem.

It’s kinda funnny…Ice Road Truckers is one of those random things that brings my abrasive, gruff, F350 stakebed driving uncle and my genteel, NPR listening uber-liberal, Volvo driving mom together…..my uncle was genuinely worried about Alex’s well-being after season 2 and my mom likes the whole ‘Woman succeeding in a man’s world’ aspect that Lisa brings to the show.

Even without Lisa Kelly, I find myself fascinated by some of the absolutely remote and god-forsaken places one must drive an 18-wheeler through.

Fenway – I first posted about her a year ago – almost ot the day. When she first joined the show, I got a lot more interested. Heh.

Dang….didn’t even have a blog this time last year. I see that she has some fan-mail from France in your comments section…

I did however find an opportunity to gratuitously insert some pictures of her (and Jewel….during her short-lived stint as a dominatrix, apparenty) shortly after my blog’s inception.

Fenway – After five years of blogging you get to cover a lot of hot babes. Although that pic of Jewel is teh awesome.

Yeah….but how many of them earn their living driving a tractor-trailer….let alone a tractor trailer over the Alaskan Ice Road?

So, where’s the “history” on History channel?? Pawn Stars?? Buncha fat, obnoxious pawn pricks that may or may not have something of historical interest. American pickers?? Coupla poofters on a yard sale binge. Ax Men?? Please….

The list goes on and on. Yeah, she’s better looking that most of the women truckers I met out on the road, and driving the ice road takes bigger stones than 99% of the drivers out there have got, but history, not so much.

I.R.T. lost me after that fat fuck shot at another truck to keep it from passing so he could beat the other driver to the drop and wasn’t hauled off in irons.

History Channel was one of the very few channels that I could watch, and watched a LOT until they started that Realishit programming, now 2-3 times a week… maybe.

Never thought I’d watch a show about driving trucks, but as I channel surf, this babe has caught my eye more than once. Well played, Wyatt!!

Pretty sure that was a starter’s pistol.

Jeez…next you’ll probably be complaining about soldiers in full battle gear doing elaborate dance routines while on patrol or something.
