Philly To Raise Property Taxes 10%

By Wyatt Earp | May 14, 2010

The Philadelphia fiscal model is apparently exactly the same as the Obama fiscal model. Refuse to cut spending, raise taxes through the roof, and balance the budget on the backs of the working man.

But by all means, idiots, keep voting Democrat!

If you live in Philadelphia, higher property taxes and a fee for trash pickup may be two things you’ll pay for next year.

Philadelphia City Council approved Mayor Michael Nutter’s $3.9 billion budget for 2011 with a vote Thursday evening.

To fill in a $150 million budget gap, officials made several tax increases, the most notable being a 9.9-percent jump in property taxes, officials told NBC Philadelphia. That increase will only last for two years.

Uh-huh. Tell me the last time a tax was repealed. I’ll wait.

Thanks, Mayor Squidward. We citizens get less than zero for the ridiculous taxes we already pay, and now you’re going to “reward” us with a ten percent tax hike? Go frak yourself!

Help us, Chris Christie. You’re our only hope!

It’s only a 9.9% increase. The City wouldn’t dare pass a double digit tax increase.

Wagonsux – Bunch of rat bastards they are.

Lessee, last time a tax was repealed (rather than downsized a bit)…

Well, I can only think of one. A tax on telecommunications, passed to help pay for the Spanish-American War, no longer shows up on my telephone bill as of, what, three years ago?

I’m thinking that the POLICE need a raise :-)

We’ve been paying the Johnstown Flood Relief Tax since 1936. The damage was pretty much covered by 1942.

I wouldn’t mind a property tax increase if Nutter collected from all of the deadbeats who haven’t bothered paying theirs for years.

    Chris Christie is hot!

John A – See? You learn something new every day.

Roger – Our salary is not terrific, but our health plan is great. As long as they don’t touch that, I’m good.

Mrs. Crankipants – We can’t collect taxes from the toads in North Philly. That would be racist!

Run, don’t walk, away from that city.
There is no hope and they are taking your change.
Libtards on the loose and in control are almost as bad as flesh eating zombies.
Prepare for both in the same way.

Makes me wonder about an impending rise in that nasty CITY WAGE TAX I used to hate to pay when I lvived there (and worked in NJ)!!

Dems have dragged the “Cradle of Liberty” into the damn gutter.

It’s become a “gimmie” city for the lazy asses (and you know who THEY are), and an ever-increasing burden for those left that DO work and are just trying to live their lives…
The Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves…can’t you hear it?
