Beach Blanket Bingo

Cutest girl . . . ever.

Cutest girl . . . ever.

I just realized that I told most of my stories about our week in Sea Isle without really mentioning the kids. The least I could do was post some photos, like the one of the diva above. We needed a current posed picture of Julia and the missus thought a session on the beach would fit the bill. We took a lot of shots, but this was one of the better ones, even if she isn’t looking directly at the camera.

She isn’t as difficult to snap as Kevin is – he is all over the place – but she sure is photogenic, if you ask me. Speaking of Kevin . . .

Kevin and I enjoying the surf.

Kevin and I enjoying the surf.

This was the best photo we could grab with him in the water. Unfortunately, it was snapped at the exact moment he splashed water and mud into my face. Unlike last year, he really liked sitting in the surf and digging his hands into the sand. That became a problem right quick, when he started pulling out handfuls of wet sand . . . and eating them. When we nipped that habit in the bud, he started dipping his fingers into the seawater . . . then sucking on them.

Because, you know the saying, “Water, water everywhere, so let’s all have a drink!” By the end of the week, we were wheeling him to the beach in the Hannibal Lecter mask and gurney.

The requisite family photo.

The requisite family photo.

On our last day, we took a group shot of the kids in their new outfits. It came out okay, especially since Kevin kept getting up and walking to the water. We wrangled everyone together for a split second, which was all we needed to get a front runner for this year’s Christmas card photo. As you can see, they are all good-looking kids – they take after mom.

What a beautiful bunch of kids! :) You and the missus should be proud (as I’m sure you are).
