Hate Mail O’ The Week
By Wyatt Earp | May 20, 2009
Boy oh boy, do I love opening the ol’ mailbag. I especially love it when someone like “Callenoutcps” - which I think is supposed to read “Calling Out Cops” - submits their opinion.
This Rhodes Scholar had a problem with this post, where I called Judge Jacquelyn Frazier-Lyde “ignorant.” You see, Frazier-Lyde goes easy on thugs who assault police officers. So, it would stand to reason that if she goes easy on these toads, she would go even easier on the toad that assaults another citizen.
This is her comment - complete and unedited - for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!
You people have alot of nerve All these years cops been getting away with doing dirt I should no my family work with some dirty cops and because the peolpe finely have a voice ya’ll upset
Dirty cops putin brothers in jail Dirty cops gettin broke off from drug dealers Dirty cops
See if you a petty drug dealer and can’t pay your way you going to jail

DIRTY COPS
Don’t come @ her be mad @ yourself
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!- Callenoutcps
Well, who can argue with that? Since I cannot possibly add anything funnier than that comment to this post, I will now open the floor to you folks. Have at it.

I think she / he / it is just frustrated that you cops get sweaty wrestling them drug dealing, gang bangers to the ground. Maybe it’s a concerned citizen that is offering their services to bathe and groom cops in return for some spelling lessons and maybe a lesson on proper English rather than eubonics.
Write them back and tell them you bathe regular so you can’t be a dirty copy. Offer to teach them English and proper spelling while maintaining their eubonic roots. You got to stay in touch with the people Wyatt. I think they call it “Community Policing”. Here’s a link that will help.

The Streets are still mad because John Street is no longer mayor or because Milton Street is going to jail or because their community organizer president is half-white?

I think my new boss . . .who corrects my written documents . . . .wrote that. I kid you not.

1. I think we should all pitch in to buy her a new keyboard, since the only punctuation key that works on hers is the exclamation point.
2. “…I should no my family work with some dirty cops…”
At least they have jobs, after all, we’re in a recession!
3. “…Dirty cops putin brothers in jail…”
[Yawn] Yeah, Graterford is chock full of innocent brothers.
4. “…the streets have a voice and they mad…”
That’s funny, my street isn’t mad and it doesn’t have a voice, it just sounds like an ice cream truck!

The gun says: Click-boom!

Those words speak volumes about her life. Thanks for sharing that!

Could I please get a translator over here?
They lost me right after the word nerve. They mention something about cops “doing dirt”. Ummm, just what exactly are you coppers doing with the dirt? Tilling it for a garden? Or maybe something more obscene, like mud pies? And one more thing, if that person is hearing the streets talk, they may want to consult a psychiatrist, they make meds for that.

I gotta call BS.
There’s absolutely no way in hell this….uh, life form could have clicked on you email link without misspelling it.
Nice try Wyatt, but admit the facts. You got lazy and let your dog rip out a post while you were firing up the BBQ in the back yard.

BobG - Okay, that’s funny, right there!
Joe - “Community Policing” is akin to “HopeChange” in police circles. We never want to hear the words ever again.
AJ - The streets usually tell me, “Don’t touch me, I’m dirty!”
Deathlok - And don’t you work for the government? God help us all.
Moe - Ralph Wiggum!!!
Jon - Word up, G-Money!
Mrs. Crankipants - 1. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. If they’re so dirty, why don’t they turn them in?
3. They are always quoting Bart Simpson: “I didn’t do it.”
4. My street usually says, “Tell Captain America to stop peeing on me!”
Mark - The woman’s English teacher should get his/her ass kicked.
Admiral - It was my pleasure.
E.L. - Hey,
Kaveman - I swear to all that is holy that this is an actual comment from an actual person. I really don’t have that much of an imagination.
Captain - Exactly.

You do get such classy hate mail!
You (not you personally, but indirectly) do have a problem, though. While the large majority of cops do a fantastic job under difficult circumstances there are a few who do not. Cops are human. Humans are flawed. The large majority control the flaws. A small minority take advantage of the power they can wield. Some cops ARE dirty (and so are a proportion of any group of humans).
A proper cop does not use his size 11s to kick a suspect in the head who has voluntarily spreadeagled on the ground with his arms out. There may be provocation but kicking someone in the head with force is not the right way. Several cops taking turns to beat up a suspect on the streets in public view is not the right way.
The large (vast?) majority don’t do it. I cannot believe that you would do it even under severe provocation. I strongly suspect that you use this blog as a safety valve and, in addition, you have your family to earth you.
I believe in community policing - that is, police the community without fear or favour. Treat all with respect and without prejudice. Respect to the large majority of cops who do exactly this!

Poor petty drug dealers…they end up in jail, because they aren’t raking in the bucks like the big guys.
So the world knows: English teachers correct errors. For example, I had a student spell word preacher as “preecher”. Along with many other misspellings that I corrected for that child, my efforts will be ignored. Why? The kids do not care and they take that attitude with them into adulthood.

Wyatt,
You do know I was snarking you about the Community Policing thing right? I have a few LEOs in my immediate family. Believe me, I know what a joke “Community Policing” is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Pastore
Poster child for “How NOT to be a Police Chief”. I lived there, saw the futility of CP, heard the cops & crooks mocking it (and him). One officer publicly resigned from the department after Pastore hugged a drug dealer at a photo op.
And, the article forgot to put the word “crackhead” between “convicted” and “prostitute”.

I’d like to say that whoever wrote that letter is the biggest idiot alive, but sadly, there are plenty more. Some even manage to get jobs, although with that vocabulary, anybody that would hire them would have to be an even bigger idiot.
