Doofenshmirtz Evil, Incorporated!

One of the cool things about being a parent is that you can get away with watching kids’ shows without looking like a dork. I’m a pretty big fan of SpongeBob SquarePants and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but my favorite show on television today is Disney’s Phineas and Ferb.
Here’s a sample clip, with everyone’s favorite villain, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz:
Good stuff. The platypus is Perry, Phineas and Ferb’s pet, who doubles as a secret agent. Any hoo, I was watching the credits the other day and saw something that amazed me. The voice of Phineas and Ferb’s dad is none other than Richard O’Brien.
Who is Richard O’Brien? Well, a few of you (Dorkelina, most of all) know him as Riff Raff, from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Riff Raff is on Phineas and Ferb!!! Awesome.
I like the show even better now.

I did NOT know that he was on that show! Awesome. I like it even more now, too.
The only thing I recall spotting Richard O’Brien in semi-recently was that cheesy Cinderella-story movie with Drew Barrymore. He was a really excellent slimy villain.

That is COOL!
I watched P & F while I was sick.

My favorite is when Doofenschmirtz has Perry the Platypus encased in chocolate and Perry eats his way out. Doof says: “You ate your own heinie?”
Of course, repeated viewing of this show has lead my daughter to constantly ask “Whatcha doin’?”

I’ve worried about looking like a dork myself because I still enjoy watching old cartoon shows like Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, Timon & Pumbaa and Goof Troop among others. I don’t worry now, because frankly, I like them too much to care, and besides, with most of the programs on TV these days, they’re comparatively much better.

Dorkelina - It was the coolest piece of useless trivia I’ve seen in weeks.
RT - It is a quality program.
GroovyVic - Kevin, the 1-year old, stops what he is doing when he hears Dr. Doofenshmirtz speak. And I absolutely love the Comet episode, with the “Squirrels in my Pants” song.
Marvin - It’s like Looney Tunes. Today’s cartoons can’t hold a candle to them.

Very true, Wyatt. By the way, who’s Marvin?

I LOVE this show! And I didn’t even know Riff Raff was the dad!
