Clinton Wants “More Balance” On Airwaves

By Wyatt Earp | February 13, 2009

Leave it to Bill Clinton to carry the flag for censorship. Shouldn’t he be getting a “Lewinsky” somewhere?

Even though no member of Congress has scheduled hearings on the Fairness Doctrine, it remains on a hot topic on both liberal and conservative shows.

There are liberal radio shows? Are they actually on the radio??

Today, radio host Mario Solis Marich asked former President Bill Clinton if it was time for “some type of enforced media accountability.”

“Well, you either ought to have the Fairness Doctrine or we ought to have more balance on the other side,” Clinton said, “because essentially there’s always been a lot of big money to support the right wing talk shows and let face it, you know, Rush Limbaugh is fairly entertaining even when he is saying things that I think are ridiculous….”

Um, Air America was on stations across the country. And what happened? The format was not entertaining, and it garnered zero ratings - so it failed. It’s called a capitalist free-market system, Bill!

Clinton said that there needs to be either “more balance in the programs or have some opportunity for people to offer countervailing opinions.” Clinton added that he didn’t support repealing the Fairness Doctrine, an act done under Reagan’s FCC. (H/T - Politico)

I agree . . . if we have “enforced media accountability” for every aspect of media: newspapers, television, and radio. Implement that and I won’t call you a hypocrite.

Does anyone really think Clinton and the Left will try to enact a “Fairness Doctrine” on CNN, the New York Times, or Air America? Yeah, me neither. Since we can all agree on that, I think it’s time for Bill to shut the frak up.

No wonder Hillary dissed you . . .

I can watch this every single day.

Their liberal radio host gave up his gig to focus on getting enough votes “found” to get himself elected in Minnesota.

Now that video just made my friday.

Would’ve been even better if Obama shoved a cigar in Bill’s mouth.
