Tampa Man Gets “Fired Up”

By Wyatt Earp | February 18, 2010

TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa man has been charged with trying to set his father on fire with a makeshift blowtorch. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported a 52-year-old man doused his 77-year-old father with gasoline Sunday night. Then the son reportedly made a blowtorch with a can of bug spray and a lighter. Deputies said he sprayed it at his father but missed.

The son was arrested the next morning and charged with aggravated assault on someone older than 65 and battery on someone older than 65. He was being held without bail set. Authorities said the father and son had been arguing over money.

Holy crap! Apparently, someone has been watching Pulp Fiction (NSFW):

I get all tingly inside whenever I see this scene! As much fun as Michael Madsen’s ‘torture’ scene in “Reservoir Dogs!”

I’m glad the old man made it out okay, but forgive me for asking this:

How did the son “miss?” Seems pretty straightforward to me…

1oldleg – I can’t hear “Stuck in the Middle with You” without cringing anymore.

Piper – Or, “Let Me Stand Next to Your Fire.”

    TJS – It’s amazing, isn’t it?
