Note to the jackasses in the Obama administration: Low-flying airliners over the Manhattan skyline without notifying the public can lead to hysteria. Maybe next time, you folks could create a photo op somewhere else?
You know, like a city that wasn’t attacked by two low-flying jetliners!!!

NEW YORK — A White House official apologized Monday after a low-flying Boeing 747 spotted above the Manhattan skyline frightened workers and residents into evacuating buildings.
The aircraft was a White House plane taking part in a classified, government-sanctioned photo shoot, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
“Last week, I approved a mission over New York. I take responsibility for that decision,” said Louis Caldera, director of the White House Military Office. “While federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey, it’s clear that the mission created confusion and disruption.”
It’s nice of Caldera to fall on his sword, but if you think the administration – and Obama himself – didn’t know about this, you’re kidding yourself.
Witnesses reported seeing the plane circle over the Upper New York Bay near the Statue of Liberty before flying up the Hudson River. It was accompanied by two F-16s.
Even New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg wasn’t notified. Classeless, idiotic, and dangerous in my opinion.
New York Police Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne said the department had been alerted to the flight by the federal agency “with directives to local authorities not to disclose information about it.” (H/T – CNN)
Frakkin’ inexcusable. With all the messes that the country is currently dealing with, a photo op is on the list of Things To Do? You have got to be kidding me.

I saw a video about it on Yahoo and those planes were VERY low. I know I would have been scared shitless if I had lived in NY and saw that.

Not only did Caldera APPROVE THE MISSION, HIS AGENCY ORDERED IT HUSHED UP thus ensuring half of Lower Manhattan was scared sh*tless causing a justifiable panic among thousands of citizens. Professional, organized and capable governments don’t cause panic and fear among the population they are SUPPOSED TO PROTECT!
I stand by my post that this administration couldn’t give a rats azz about what happened on 911.

How could this be confused with anything malevolent? I mean come on, a 747 being flying low around NYC, being chased by fighter jets? I mean really, what’s wrong with that picture?
I’m trying of some way to justify that, but the picture above makes my blood boil – these are just not serious people, and they are certainly not leaders or statesmen.

RT – It doesn’t make any sense at all. Forget the Caldera apology. Obama should issue an apology to the people of New York City.

This was a bonehead move that would have gotten George W. Bush fricasseed by the media. It’s just sad to me that the same people who believed that everything terrible that happened was Bush’s stupidity/evil genius plans (depending on what was going to get more attention) at work are all too happy to believe that this new bag of douche is somehow “honest” or “trustworthy”.
