Coach K To Obama: Stick To The Economy

Yesterday, the wires ran a story – some of them ran it as a “Breaking Story” – announcing that President Obama has filled out his NCAA March Madness Basketball bracket.
Some treated it as a serious new story.
So, I was mulling over to post this nonsense under a “Duct Tape Advisory” category, when I read this blurb today. Personally, I think it captures the essence of how I feel about Obama’s basketball picks.
WASHINGTON – Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski isn’t thrilled his team got snubbed by the leader of the free world.
“Somebody said that we’re not in President Obama’s Final Four, and as much as I respect what he’s doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets,” Krzyzewski told a reporter from the Associated Press on Wednesday.
The president filled out his NCAA bracket for ESPN on Tuesday, and the Blue Devils weren’t among his Final 4 picks. Instead, he has Coach K’s squad falling to Pittsburgh in the Elite 8. (H/T – CNN)
Now, I don’t like college basketball very much, except when my Alma mater, The Saint Joseph’s hawks are playing. Similarly, I despise the Duke Blue Devils and their coach, Mike Krzyzewski. That being said, are there many people out there that don’t agree with Coach K’s sentiments?
Look, we all know how much our idiot president loves basketball. You couldn’t turn on a television without seeing some camera crew following this dope around, taking video of him “shooting j’s.”
No. One. Cares!
What people do care about is this unmitigated mess of a recession. We want to hear what he is going to do about it. We do not want to hear about his basketball pool.
Fix the economy, stupid! And try to do it without the help of a teleprompter, okay?
