With Thanks

By Wyatt Earp | September 21, 2008

I wanted to thank everyone for the prayers, kind words, and thoughts during a very difficult week here. As you may know, my wife was hospitalized on Tuesday with an infection and kidney problems. You may also know that she is six months pregnant. Imagine my stress when she was admitted.

Anyway, she came home yesterday afternoon after four days in what she termed “Hell.” The doctors declared her healthy enough to leave their friendly confines and she’s recuperating at Casa de Earp. The kidney stone turned out to be non-threatening (for now) and the infection is under control.

And, equally as important, the baby is okay.

So, life is slowly returning back to normal around these parts, and I can get back to doing what I do best: staying out of her way. Being Mr. Mom was overwhelming, to say the least.

Thank you all again. The thoughts are much appreciated.

I’m glad both Mrs. Earp and baby girl are doing well.

:) I said lots of prayers and will continue do so.

Hey Sweetie–folks in Topeka are thinking of you and your family. Take care of that beautiful wife and hope all is well. I went through a similar experience with my first daughter. It sucked out loud. It was as miserable as it gets. Suffice it to say, we got through it and that baby is 31 years old, making six figures and is her mom’s retirement plan. :)

I realized your wife was sick and in the hospital, but I didn’t realize that she was dealing with a kidney stone. Bless her sweet heart! Both of you get rest. I know you need it.

Web - Thanks. It’s good to have her back home.

John D - Now, let’s try and stay out of the hospital until the due date (Christmastime).

RT - Thanks. At only 25 weeks, the girl could use prayers to keep her in until December at the earliest.

Deb - Now, I am truly envious of you. :) Thanks for the thoughts!

Deanna - I had 7 hours sleep last night. It felt like 12. Good stuff! I still have to basically run the house, because she’s still recovering, but we’re managing.

Hospitals are hell. Love the nurses, but you can’t sleep and every time you turn around someone is taking a quart or two of blood. I’ll keep you both in my prayers.

Kidney stones suck. I know from experience. I’m glad she’s home and I hope she continues to recover. Good for you for picking up the slack.

Oh, and congratulations to both of you!

I’ve been out of the loop, so I apologize for missing the opportunity to give some prayers for you and Mrs. Earp. I’m so thankful she’s now back home with you and her babies - and the growing baby and Mom are both doing well!! I’ll keep you both in my prayers though and hope that she’s back to 100% soon!
