Indian Man Divorces Fake Wife

By Wyatt Earp | July 20, 2008

This is why we outsource jobs there: these people are so damned clever. Heh.

KOLKATA, India (Reuters) – An Indian man who took an impersonator to court to get a divorce faces legal action after his real wife found out, lawyers said Friday.

Sanjib Saha presented a woman as his wife in a lower court in the eastern city of Kolkata this month. Both said they sought a mutual divorce, something the court granted immediately.

Saha’s real wife was then asked to leave the marital home. She has since appealed the ruling at a higher court, charged her husband with cheating and the original divorce was suspended. (H/T – )

I know the missus will kick my ass for this, but damn if that isn’t a great idea. I’m just sayin’.

And, as always, Randal will make his usual comment for stories from India . . .

Randal – You disappoint me. I was looking for something along the lines of Indy 2.

TW – Oh please. She already has the perfect husband! (And she put him up in a nice house outside the city limits.)

India. The only place you can get a Tandori smoothie, a porn magazine, a box of curried donuts and a divorce proxy; all at one convenient slurp and gulp location.

Thank God the majority of the “people” we serve aren’t that clever. But no doubt, one day a job like this will cross your desk.

RT – Agreed. At least until the real wife found out.

Wagonsux – Yep, and it will absolutely be assigned to me. Groovy.
