The U.S. has captured Ahmed Abu Khattala, mastermind of the 2012 Benghazi Attacks.
One of the suspected ringleaders of the 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi that killed four Americans, Abu Khattala is the first of the alleged perpetrators to be apprehended. He now awaits a transfer to the United States and a federal trial in the District.
U.S. officials said the joint Special Operations and FBI mission had been planned for months and was approved by President Obama on Friday.
I wonder if they seized his internet video equipment? There’s more below the fold…
Hillary Clinton, the next President of the United States, told NBC News the Taliban commanders released for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl “are not a threat to the United States.”
Hillary Clinton says the Taliban 5, released more than a week ago by President Obama, are “not a threat to the United States.”
“These five guys are not a threat to the United States,” says Clinton. “They are a threat to the safety and security of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It’s up to those two countries to make the decision once and for all that these are threats to them. So I think we may be kind of missing the bigger picture here. We want to get an American home, whether they fell off the ship because they were drunk or they were pushed or they jumped, we try to rescue everybody.”
Unless, of course, they’re the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, the U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer, or CIA contractors.
A newly-released report claims SEAL Team Six allegedly pumped hundreds of bullets into Osama bin Laden’s body the night of the infamous raid. Unbelievably, there are some people who have a problem with this.
Citing confidential sources, The Special Operations Forces Situation Report tells how “operator after operator took turns dumping magazines-worth of ammunition into Bin Laden’s body.”
The site goes on to argue that while the Navy SEALs may have felt it was “morally, legally, and ethically appropriate to shoot the body a few times to ensure that he is really dead and no longer a threat,” that does not justify the extent of this damage.
“What happened on the Bin Laden raid is beyond excessive. The level of excess shown was not about making sure that Bin Laden was no longer a threat. The excess was pure self-indulgence,” author Jack Murphy writes.
Dear Mr. Murphy, go f**k yourself. Sincerely, the United States of America. If the bullet count was anything less than 2,996, I’d say the SEALs showed tremendous restraint.
Democrats participating in the Benghazi hearings walked out of the chamber during testimony from the families of those killed during the attacks.
During the second portion of a House Oversight and Government Reform hearing about Benghazi Thursday on Capitol Hill, the majority of Democrats on the Committee left the room and refused to listen to the testimony of Patricia Smith and Charles Woods. Ms. Smith is the mother of Sean Smith, an information management officer killed in the 9/11 Benghazi attack. Charles Woods is the father of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, who was also killed.
The far side of the room, shown empty in the photo, belongs to the Democrats. The only Democrats who stayed were Ranking Member Elijah Cummings and Rep. Jackie Speier. (H/T – AoSHQ)
The other Democrats apparently couldn’t care less about the victims’ families. Color me surprised.
On this date in 2001, the Islamic terrorist group al Qadea launched a coordinated attack on the United States. Four airliners were hijacked, and three of them were flown into the World Trade Center towers, as well as the Pentagon. The fourth airliner, United 93, crashed in a field near Shanksville, PA, after the passengers tried to overtake the plane. By the end of the day, 2,977 people were murdered and more than 6,000 were injured.
When the dust settled, people started saying, “Never forget.” The sad truth is we have already forgotten. Politicians go to great lengths to claim America is not at war with Islam… even though much of Islam is at war with us. The media refuses to call terrorism what it is, and goes out of its way to report on the “real” terrorists: Christians, Jews, and evil right wing nutjobs. The politically-correct crowd wants any reference to Muslim terror labeled “hate speech,” as if ignoring the problem will make it go away.
And now, twelve years after the attacks that changed America forever, our “president” is planning a military strike to support the Syrian rebels. In this case, those rebels are affiliated with al Qaeda.
Hopefully, this murderous Islamist bastard will see it sooner, rather than later.
A military jury sentenced Maj. Nidal Hasan to death on Wednesday for the 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, giving the Army psychiatrist what he believed would be a path to martyrdom in the attack on unarmed fellow soldiers.
The American-born Muslim, who has said he acted to protect Islamic insurgents abroad from American aggression, never denied being the gunman. In opening statements, he acknowledged to the jury that he pulled the trigger in a crowded waiting room where troops were getting final medical checkups before deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Death sentences are rare in the military, which has just five other prisoners on death row. The cases trigger a long appeals process. And the president must give final authorization before any service member is executed. No American soldier has been executed since 1961.
One has to wonder is the “president” will sign the death warrant for such a trivial crime as “workplace violence.” /snark
Note to Aishwarya Rai: unless you want to be gang-tackled by overzealous TSA agents, steer clear of British airports.
Heathrow Airport is on high terror alert amid fears women suicide bombers are ready to strike with explosives concealed in breast implants.
Security checks have been beefed up after “credible” intelligence that al-Qaeda is plotting attacks on airlines flying out of London.
One staff member said: “There are genuine fears over this. “We have been told to pay particular attention to females who may have concealed hidden explosives in their breasts.
In a completely unrelated story, I have submitted a transfer request to the London Police Department. They could always use a few helping hands.
I’m sure you’ve read the omnipresent accounts of the Nidal Hasan “workplace violence” trial, since they’re been the top story for weeks. Oh, you haven’t seen them? Curious. Anyway, Mark Steyn is here to catch you up to speed.
…The U.S. Army seems disinclined to hold anything against [Nidal Hasan], especially the 13 corpses plus an unborn baby. Major Hasan fired his lawyers, presumably because they were trying to get him off. As a self-respecting jihadist, Major Hasan quite reasonably resented being portrayed as just another all-American loon gone postal.
On the very first day of the trial, he stood up and told the jury that “the evidence will clearly show that I am the shooter.” Later, in one of his few courtroom interventions, he insisted that it be put on the record that “the alleged murder weapon” was, in fact, his. The trial then came to a halt when the standby defense team objected to the judge that Major Hasan’s defense strategy would result in his conviction and execution.
Abraham Lincoln said, “He who represents himself has a fool for a client.” That quote is tailor made for this jihadist piece of detritus…
The closings are in response to an unspecified threat in the Middle East and Asia. The threats have come from al Qaeda.
Wait, I thought the “president” said al Qaeda was “on the run?”
The chairman of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee said al Qaeda appears to be behind a threat that has prompted several U.S. embassies to close on Sunday.
“It’s my understanding that it is al Qaeda linked … and the threat emanates in the Middle East and in Central Asia,” Representative Ed Royce said Friday.
Royce, a Republican, said he and several other lawmakers met two days ago with Vice President Joe Biden on the threat, “and as you know we’re going to take whatever steps necessary to protect our personnel overseas…”
Yeah, tell that to Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, and Sean Smith.
Yeah, I didn’t believe it at first, either, but there ya go. The report claims that 35 CIA agents were on site, and seven of those were wounded in the attacks. Some seriously. If true, that means the “president” left three dozen Americans out there to die.
Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret.
CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy agency’s Benghazi secrets from ever leaking out.
Since January, some CIA operatives involved in the agency’s missions in Libya, have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency’s workings. The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress.
It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.
In exclusive communications obtained by CNN, one insider writes, “You don’t jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize your family as well.”
But yeah, “phony scandal”… or something. If true, this should be the death knell of the Obama presidency, and the end of Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations before they even begin.
BTW, here is a list of Obama’s “phony scandals” to date.
