Thieves Target President’s Burial Site

Only the lowest of the low – subhumans – would steal something from a cemetery. Only sub-subhumans would steal something from the burial site of President Abraham Lincoln.
Yet that’s exactly what happened there recently.
Copper thieves have stolen a 3ft sword from Abraham Lincoln’s burial site in Springfield, Illinois. An employee recently noticed that a statue of a Civil War artillery officer on top of the tomb was missing the weapon, which was broken at the handle. It was taken from the site at the Oak Ridge Cemetery sometime between September and early November.
The theft is believed to be the first to state property stolen at the Lincoln Tomb Historic Site since the same sword was thieved 101 years ago, Blanchette said.
The original sword would have been bronze, which was used in all metal statues. Much of the bronze came from melted-down Civil War cannons. The stolen sword was then replaced by the copper version.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. People suck.
