Hey Now, You’re An All-Star

Kyle in goal. Only Jesus saves more.
The missus received an e-mail today from Kyle’s soccer coach. He was named the starting goaltender for the league’s all-star team!
In six games so far this season, Kyle’s team is in first place. They are also undefeated. Kyle has only given up four goals this year, and earned three shutouts. The boy has definitely earned his spot on the team. And while the nod made him extremely happy, he is keeping his focus on the important matter at hand: helping the team win its first-ever championship. There are two games left before the start of the playoffs.
The all-star game is scheduled for April 9th. I’ll be taking off from work that day.

Way to go! Proud of ya! Tell Dad to take lots of pictures so we can all live vicariously through him and pretend we were there cheering you on.

Kyle hasn’t been getting “pointers” from Bernie Parent regarding goal-tending, has he?

RT – Yeah, it was cool.
Old NFO – I try to make as many as I can. I’ll take off for the playoff games and the all-star game.
Kim – To live vicariously through me you have to wince and close your eyes a lot. Some of the games are really stressful, especially when he gets accidentally kicked in the chest.
Real – His mom.
Orchid – Thanks. It’s his first-ever all-star selection.
Bob G. – He plays soccer, street hockey, and lacrosse. In the street hockey league, he plays goalie, and he has played goal in a few lax games, too. Absolutely loves the position – and the pressure.
