MSNBC Fires Keith Olbermann

By Wyatt Earp | January 22, 2011

There is nothing I would want more in this world than to spend a naked night alone with Christina Hendricks. A close second would be seeing the Flyers win another Stanley Cup. Come to think of it, perfection would be spending a naked night alone with Christina Hendricks while the Flyers are winning a Stanley Cup.

And as great as that would be,

MSNBC host Keith Olbermann announced Friday that he is leaving the network and has taped his last “Countdown” show.

MSNBC issued a statement that it had ended its contract with the host, with no further explanation. Olbermann hosted the network’s most popular show, but his combative liberal opinions often made him a target of critics. Olbermann did not explain why he was leaving.

Of course he didn’t! Why would he want to admit that his show was canceled and he was summarily fired? Personally, I think it was a long time coming, since there is no one in the media who spews as much hate and bile as Olbermann does on a nightly basis. MSNBC must have decided that Keith’s negatives outweighed his positives, and threw him out on his ear. I, for one, will be tap-dancing on his grave.

So come, have a drink. His bitter tears taste so sweet!

I saw this last night, just before shut-eye. I stayed up a bit longer swilling a celebratory brew. Now, if only he finds himself unemployable…

Hope George W. Bush has filed for a restraining order on this unhinged psycho.

Didn’t Olberman have the top-rated talk show at MSNBC? Ah well…..guess that doesn’t matter- it’s like having the highest denominated Zimbabwean dollar. Daddy Immeltbucks indulged this frothing, poo-flinging monkey and the rest of the MSNBC ‘personalities’ for far too long- they were a ratings albatross and kicking them loose made business sense no matter how one looked at it…..

Whatever shall Olby do next? Maybe President 0bama can give him one of those famous ‘Green Jobs’ he and his party promised the country. Or perhaps he can appoint Keith ‘Civility Czar’ or something.

To quote the wise men from from Steam: , Keith

The word of the day is schadenfreude. Sweet, sweet schadenfreude.

    See, I’m agin this.

I liked Keith just fine where he was.

What better illustration of the left’s hatred and insanity than for the highest rated, non-FNC, news show to be Keith’s?

Fenway, Maybe Obama will appoint Obie Press Secretary. Now THAT would be schadenfreude.

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Get out the pig on the spit, the fireworks and a keg of MGD.. It’s party time!!!!!!

Why are we focusing our energy on the negative? Let’s focus on the positives in this story.

    Christina Hendricks,
    Naked Night,
    Alone with.

    MSNBC? What’s that?

Howdy Wyatt! Uh, you quoted this:
“Olbermann hosted the network’s most popular show, but his combative liberal opinions often made him a target of critics.”
And the real fact is that Olbermann was not a “liberal”. Never was one. He has always been WAAAY to the Left of liberals. And it wasn’t really his combative opinions which made him a target for his critics, it was the stupid, venal and vicious opinions and the stupid, venal and vicious way he EXPRESSED those opinions that most sane folks criticized.
None the less, I am glad he’s gone. Now if only MSNBC would can Rachel Maddcow, they’d have a chance of moving up to something regarding intelligent opinion/analysis.
So long Olbermann – hope we never hear from or see you again.

I like Ferrell’s idea of a pig pickin’!

Olbermann is gone, Rendell is gone and Regis is FINALLY retiring! YAY! No wonder it was sunny yesterday.

I have to admit I might be starting to like this Comcast NBC merger a bit more! Maybe we can all thank Comcast and Steve Burke for this early present.

Now if only they would get rid of Matthews.

Robert B. – I can’t think of an outlet stupid and liberal enough to hire this lunatic. Maybe LGF?

Sox – No kidding. His ranch just went to DefCon 1.

Fenway – He did have the best ratings there, which shows you how much Olby pissed them off.

Picky – It’s like visual crack.

Veeshir – No worries, they’re moving that idiot Ed Schultz to the 10pm slot. The lunacy continues!

Robert B. – You’re not the first one to suggest that. It wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Piper – Everyone laughs at him. It’s the law.

Ferrell – There’s a party in my mouth and everyone’s invited!

Dr. Evil – And to think, Kilborn used to helm The Daily Show.

Sean – I like a guy with his priorities in order!

Real – The sad part is that Madcow looks like the reasonable one on that station.

RT – “CODY! HIS NAME IS CODY!!”

Danny – I despise Comcast, but if they had something to do with this, I may rethink that opinion.

Jon – Better than dead – unemployed!

Word has it that PMSNBC is interviewing Kathy Griffin and Jeaneane Garafolo as replacements.

I guess they figure they need two lunatics to replace the king of lunatics.

Saw this afternoon that Obie was asking for more money. He was under contract for two more years at $7 million each but felt he deserved more as the headliner of MSNBC’s programming. They said no and negotiated a buy out that supposedly says he can not be on TV for s period of time. Personally I hope that period of time was “Never.”

Since SYLG has gone to its “No Politics” format, I’ll withhold what I truly think of Olbermann and his departure.

Suffice it to say that I hope Comcast will shortly bring about the departures of Chrissy Matthews, Lawrence O’Donnell, Ed Schultz Rachel Madcow and that smarmy RINO Joe Scarborough from the network as well, and hire some sane people to replace them.

I’m also going to put you back on the prayer list. You’re going to need all the help you can get when your wife finds out your fondest dream is “to spend a night alone naked with Christina Hendricks.”

Christina might be pissed at you too… ;)

One of the great things about not having cable is not getting the monthly bill. The other great thing is not being able to get MSNBC.

  21. Wyatt Earp Says:

RAPH – Well, they have to keep up appearances, I guess.

Bob – The best dump of the year!

Joated – TMZ claimed it has to do with the new owners at Comcast.

Wes S. – You can comment all you want about politics. I’m just trying to stay away from political posts. Comments are always free rides.

As far as Mrs. Earp, no worries. She knows Christina wouldn’t walk across the street to kick me in the groin.

Crankipants – I wish I could delete MSNBC from my DirecTV channel guide.
