Chicago Gang Members Hold Presser

By Wyatt Earp | September 2, 2010

Get this: They think the police are harassing them and don’t “respect them.”

At a news conference organized by self-identified gang members Thursday morning, several speakers complained that police and city officials do not respect them, and that the only way to curb violence is to provide jobs and improving their community.

The self-described current and former gang members held a news conference at the Columbus Park Refectory, at 5701 W. Jackson Blvd. on the city’s West Side.

“You say it’s gangs, drugs and guns. We say we need jobs, opportunities and contracts,” said Reginald Akeem Berry Sr., who identified himself as a former gang member. “That’s the resolution.”

Oh, by all means. Let’s just give these animals jobs, opportunities, and contracts. Lord knows they’ve earned them after all of the drug-dealing and the killings.

Geezus…I get REAL tired of hearing the same old BS from these “people”…

They’ve HAD the opportunity for DECADES, if not longer…they just DO NOT WANT to do anything but make the “fast buck” at anyone’s expense.

They live in their own sub-culture…with their OWN rules, their OWN forms of justice, and own “language” (ebonics), and everyone else who plays BY the actual rules, and is law-abiding and decent is supposed to be “fine and dandy” with that.
I wouldn’t buy that if it was FREE!

Hell, I dwell in a neighborhood that changed AROUND me..and live “the adventure” each and every day…talk about seeing depravity!

(getting like Detroit, and MY city is 1/10th the size of Philly)

Jimmy Malone was (and is) RIGHT!

    Excellent post!
    Roll safe out there.

Typical F***in’ Democratic Chicago. Let give the guys who cause the murder and mayhem a voice so they be understood and everyone can be more culturally sensitive…

This will be followed by up milk, a big hug and a bedtime story.

Maybe, just maybe the CPD would have a little more respect for you if your gang members bullets didn’t kill 2 year old girls and high school valedictorians in the crossfire.

Hmmm why isn’t obambi taking care of his old home town? Where’s Rahm? Out making noodles? Maybe if he dropped a few golf outings he could meet with some
community groups to discuss helping to get those opportunities. But as Spanky McFarland would say……
    NAHHHHH!

No doubt, where is the community organizer? He should have a bullet summit with these clowns.

I would have bet a million bucks that the gang conference would have been held on MLK Boulevard.

Bob G – They have no desire to find legitimate jobs. There’s no money in it.

Ferrell – I guess they think that Mayor Daley will come through for them. He won’t. Not because they’re gang-bangers, but because they use guns. And guns are eeeeevil!

Jon – You would think there are some community organizers willing to help, right?

    Ingineer66 – Or a Colt .45 summit – the malt liquor, I mean.

    Randal – No takers!

To paraphrase: Give them what they want, and they’ll give up crime. Sounds almost like extortion, doesn’t it?

Or, as Butch Cassidy would say:

“If he’d just pay me what he’s spending to make me stop robbing him, I’d stop robbing him.”

Yay! Just what Chicago needs….more ‘community organizing’ to fill the empty space now that empty suit BH0 has moved on elsewhere.

Maybe ChiTown can follow Hartford, CT’s lead and elect one of these upstanding community activists to mayor.

Illinois needs to build more prisons and elect more conservative judges. And the politicians that pander to these animals need to share cells with them.

What skill will those guys have that is marketable? Prison cell interior decorator? Pharmaceutical testers? Drive by shooting instructors?…

Like I posted on my site, the only meeting I’d have with them would probably involve water and boards….

Daley put a cowardly fed in charge, J.P. Weis former FBI SAC in Philly. Ever since that day the CPD was on the downtrack to oblivion. If you want to see what the rank and file thinks of this “fed” I urge my brothers and sisters in Philly to follw the blog by SCC.

I say give a .40cal round to the back of their heads.
    I would gladly supply several.

John D – It’s like Heat. Give us the money and no one will get hurt.

Fenway – These guys could get elected here in Philly.

Robert B. – Never happen. Like Philly and Detroit, Chicago is too far gone.

    Robert – Shank inspectors, maybe?

LDIV – I’m sure they hold him in the same high regard that we hold Commissioner Ramsey.

Rick – Put them on the border to deal with the Mexican drug lords.

What the hell? Gang members holding press conferences?? I’d being going through mug shots and matching them with faces in the press conference. Bastards.

Rereading that just ticks me off more. No respect my ass. Respect is earned, not given, and these jerks deserve none. WTF…do they think they’re Rodney Dangerfield or something?
