Dreaming of an advanced degree? Try a doctorate in dreams, something which could soon become a reality in a new Saudi academy offering undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Yusuf al-Harthy, a well-known Saudi dream interpreter, plans to start up an institute offering bachelors and masters degrees as well as even a PhD in explaining dreams and visions, Al-Hayat newspaper reported on Sunday.
Islam has a long history of dream interpretation, with the seventh century-born scholar Muhammad Ibn Sirin, a native of Basra in present-day Iraq, credited with authoring a classic Islamic catalog on dream interpretation.
This so sounds like a class that Homer Simpson would be teaching. Personally though, I doubt any professor wants to interpret my dreams. I mean, who wants to investigate the explanations behind the “Blogging Naked in Front of Independence Hall” dream?
And don’t even get me started on my “Dorothy Krysiuk Gets a Restraining Order” nightmare!

I took a psych class once, “Psych of human consciousness”, where the prof interpreted dreams.
It was funny. He was a stoner who traveled the world doing drugs like peyote and mushrooms with shaman of all manner of religions.
He couldn’t interpret dreams to save his life though. One girl told of a dream with a white horse and bunch of other weird things going on.
He said the horse meant something all profound and religious.
After class she said it was because she had ran out of heroin the day before and was jonesing.
Eh, an easy A and it was sorta interesting, he brought in some weird guest speakers.

Might want to get in on the ground floor of this one. There are more than enough “nut jobs” out there who will buy into this and give their last penny to find out what their dream about witches on bicyles or fllying monkeys really means.
