Still More ObamaCare Bribes

By Wyatt Earp | March 19, 2010

In the 2008 Presidential Election, 52% of the electorate voted for Barack Obama. Many voted for him because he is African-American. Many voted for him because he promised “change.” Many voted for him because they believed he would end “politics as usual in Washington.” How is that working out for ya, Obama voters?

Politics as usual is still the norm in Washington, and some would say it has gotten worse. Instead of shady, backroom legislative deals, the Obama administration has brought about true “change” – by openly bribing politicians for their votes.

The list of sweetheart deals is staggering:

Nebraska’s Hospital Helper:

The Obama administration has delivered another budget plum to Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson and the state of Nebraska, adding more than a half-billion dollars for a new veterans hospital in Omaha.

But wait, there’s more!

Tennessee’s Hospital Helper:

Democrats unveiling revisions Thursday to their health-care overhaul bill decided to kill the extra $100 million in Medicaid funds for Nebraska that has become a symbol of backdoor deal making. But the 153 pages of changes to the package include an additional $99 million in 2012 and 2013 for Tennessee hospitals that treat many poor people.

North Dakota’s Student Loan Loophole:

Although the package nationalizes the student loan system, one bank — the state-owned Bank of North Dakota — would be allowed to continue making student loans. Such a deal for North Dakota’s Democratic congressional delegation facing massive opposition to Obamacare back home.

Water Wheeling and Dealing:

On Tuesday, the Department of the Interior announced it was increasing water allocations for the Central Valley of California, a region that depends on these water allocations for local agriculture and jobs. The timing adds to our suspicions.

Truth be told, I’m disappointed that Pennsylvania’s Democrats folded faster than Superman on laundry day. If congressmen like Patrick Murphy or Allyson Schwatrz held out for once – instead of reverting to their usual Obama arse-licking mode – maybe my city would get some of the good stuff.

I would like to think that the electorate would remember this treachery in November, but most voters are ill-informed and have very short memories.

The number of Dems in ’safe’ districts who keep voting for the incumbent no matter how idiotic, criminal or moonbatty (i.e. Barney Frank, Patty Murray, Charlie Wrangel) coupled with the unelected appointees (i.e. Kirk, Gillenbrand and Burress) coupled with those who are retiring and just don’t give a damn (Delahunt, Dodd, Bayh) didn’t bode well from the very beginning of this administration.

And they still don’t get it….which is why you see Republicans taking office in even the most blue states like Massachusetts and New Jersey.

May the red head in the last post stalk Obama for the rest of his days.

Fenway_Nation – Hopefully, more incumbents will fall this November.

    Minuteman26 – Nice!

Sliding quickly into an ocean of red ink.

This not the change they voted for I am sure.

USAdmiral – I’m sure it isn’t, judging by Obama’s most recent poll numbers. If this thing passes, I think it cements him as a one-termer.

You can go read “Failing Me” on my blog and it might help you understand why I’m not fan of government managed health care.

Luckily I’m still around after this week to type this comment.

I didn’t vote for his last time, and I sure ain’t gonna vote for him next time. I am voting all the bums out. All incumbents are out! And I will keep doing it until some “change” actually occurs!

CP – The latest is that half of the Stupak Dozen are now voting yes for this monstrosity. It’s gonna pass, and we’re all screwed when it does.

Danny – It’s the only way to fly. Every person who votes for this bill must be voted out at the first opportunity.
