Now, It’s Christmas

By Wyatt Earp | December 17, 2009

Since Thanksgiving, two local radio stations have been playing all Christmas music, all the time. One station is in Philly (101.1FM) and one is in Delaware (99.5FM). This pleases me, because I usually can’t get enough of Christmas music – at least during the holidays. Any hoo, I have been listening at home, in the car, and at work, and thus far, I have not heard what I consider one of the best Christmas songs of all time: Christmas Wrapping, by The Waitresses.

Haven’t. Heard. It. Once.

But by all means, let’s hear Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer 20 times a day! This cannot stand. I demand satisfaction! Luckily, I can rectify this miscarriage of justice here:

Ahh. Now, it’s Christmas.

For me, it’s Yogi Yorgesson singing “I Yust Go Nuts At Christmas”.

    I really miss WPEN.

Wyatt, this has always been the song that made it Christmas for me, too.

And I haven’t heard yet either. So Thanks. And Merry Christmas!

I think what would drive me postal would be if one of my neighbors had a setup like that, where the lights flashed to music. It would take about twice, then out would come my Benelli. Bah Humbug

Trans-Siberian Orchestra for me, thanks. “A Mad Russian’s Christmas” and “Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24″ are just perfect for giving the neighbors a rude awakening…

Great song – Sadly, the lead singer, Patty Donohue died in 1996 at the age of 40. The song makes an appearance in the TV show Square Pegs.

Uncle Ray – Well, it isn’t for my sparkling personality.

Sully – Are they boycotting them? WTF?

    Mike47 – “Seven rappers rapping . . . ”

Mrs. Crankipants – Look at you, going old school! (Got your card, btw, thanks!)

Teetop – I love it, but I am mentally imbalanced.

    Lisa – You too!

Dano – TSO absolutely rules. My kids love them, too.

Dave – It’s nice to see once or twice, but after that, not so much.

Jason – You are not alone.

Wes S – Christmas Eve Sarajevo is one of the most awesome Christmas songs of all time.

Mario – Didn’t know that. Sad.

    Robin – As do I.

    MeToo – Thanks. You too!
