It’s Funny When It Happens To Them

God, I love Hot Air. Especially because of stories like this:
With all of the media handwringing about the potential for violence at Congressional town-hall meetings in Augutst — potential only realized when unions and counterprotesters began attacking ObamaCare opponents — one has to marvel at the lack of any such speculation at the G-20 protests in Pittsburgh. Of course, the media didn’t bat an eye at the larger implications of the real violence from the same leftist crowd in Saint Paul, Minnesota, during the Republican convention, either. It seems that conservatives exercising free speech in a passionate but responsible manner freaks out the national media far more than leftists engaged in actual political violence.
Case in point — this report from CNN’s Brian Todd to Wolf Blitzer yesterday (via Doug Powers):
Note to Brian Todd: When the police tell you to disperse, you disperse! Failure to do so results in uproarious damage to anarchist toads and the media toads who cover them.

The order was to disperse, “NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PURPOSE OR INTENTION”. Sounds pretty clear to me. Get the Fuk off the street or you will be dealt with. It’s a shame the CNN employees didn’t get locked up also.
But of course, laws do not apply to the press. “We were credentialed”, oh boo freak’n hoo. Well, park that News Van illegally, or cross into my crime scene and find out how quickly I can enforce the law.

Actually, there were several reporters that got gassed at different times… that ‘reporting from the thick of it’. They knew the risks, and got what they deserved.
And in my opinion the police showed a massive amount of restraint. Only arrested ~110 during the event. Having 4,000 officers to call upon didn’t hurt either.

I love when the cops start playing whack a toad. Especially media toads.

Jack – Thanks for that, my friend!
Sully – It’s why I’m here.
Wagonsux – I was always good for standing right in front of their camera, with my back to them. Frak them and their footage.
Dano – Yeah, I had my problems with John Timoney, but he let us kick ass during the 2000 GOP Convention.
Admiral – Fun for the entire family!
