It’s Weigh Day!

By Wyatt Earp | February 7, 2009

I'm dead sexy!

I'm dead sexy!

And it is official: I am a fat bastard.

It has been a really stressful week, because I have been dealing with a lot of issues in my non-blogging life. As a result, the stress has caused me to eat like a fat, sweaty hog. (That’s not an excuse, I know, but it’s what happened last week.) Today, I stepped on the scale and was horrified (but not surprised) to see it read 201 pounds.

That’s up two pounds since last week. Completely unacceptable. The bad weather isn’t helping, but neither is my unending gullet. Day work is coming up, and while it is more difficult to make my weight watchers points on this shift, it is also much easier to exercise after work. As long as we get some days like today – it was 54 degrees when I was shopping for the missus’ birthday gift – it should get better.

In the meantime, I’ll be in the bathroom, throwing up.

RT has her progress HERE.

Maybe it is water weight. Are you feeling bloated and irritable? You might be fixing to get your period or something.

That picture is positively hideous, jeeeeeeeeesh.
Grabs a couple of t-bones out of the freezer, ties them around your neck, and lets the dogs loose. (that should help motivate you)

I stepped on the scale at my SIL’s tonight and was surprised that I maintained. Between not eating and eating junk when I did eat, I thought for sure I would gain.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. I got you beat by 84 lbs. I think I am a little taller than you and I do try to stay in reasonable shape so I don’t see a problem with a few pounds either way.

I know I don’t look anything like the guy in the picture and I doubt you do either. That lardass probably goes close to 500 lbs.

Please allow me to go a little off topic here and say that I’m proud to announce the birth of my 6th grandchild. Check out my blog for pictures.

I’m also sad to say I lost one of my best four-legged friends. If you have a moment, please talk to what ever higher power you believe in and ask them to treat his soul kindly.

You know what? It happens. We are not the youngin’s we once were who could just drop a ton of weight in an easy fashion. It is hard, frustrating, and tedious. It takes forever, and just when you think you are going to start losing weight…life happens, poor choices are made, and the seesaw thing happens.

Hopefully, when spring comes along, you will be able to get a good stretch of exercise going.

I believe you can and will do it. Patience is such a hard thing, so I won’t even tell you to have it. I know the frustration. Just remember you have people pulling for you, and I’m praying for you. :)

Oh Wyatt, weight happens. I’ve gained 6 pounds this winter, but Lent is coming on and I plan a very strict fast.
Also, the weather will be nicer and I can get out and do some walking (as well as picking up all the downed limbs from the ice storm here in Kentucky where The One has not bothered to visit us, not that we care, but it might be nice to be acknowledged).

It’s been a frigid winter triggering the body to slow metabolism and store fat irregardless of what you are eating or doing. It’s in the damn DNA. Warm temps will tell the body to “lose it.”

That sounds a little bit like an excuse. We’re not bears hibernating for the winter. We’re human beings who live in climate-controlled environments.

Snigs – I’m getting my gun!!!

E.L. – But eventually, I’ll get tired and slow down. Then, it’s lunch time!

    Kim – I was glad I wasn’t heavier. I thought I would be.

Joe – Congratulations on your grandchild! So sorry about your four-legged family member.

RT – Thanks. Hopefully, we’ll see the weather break and I’ll be able to get outside on a regular basis.

Ky person – You can always ice skate around the neighborhood. Heh.

Maggie Mama – I sure hope so.

Randal – I’d agree if the missus turned the heat up over 60 degrees. *ducks*

    AJ – Jerk.

    Joe – You’re welcome.

AJ – Oh, I thought you were bragging. You have a smaller waist than I do. I’m currently a 36.
