The Arizona Cardinals: NFC Champions

Kurt Warner is possibly the most underrated quarterback in football.
And it is currently snowing in Philadelphia. Coincidence? I think not.
GLENDALE, Ariz. —That’s not a mirage rising out of the desert, folks. It’s the Arizona Cardinals soaring to their first Super Bowl.
Yes, the Cardinals, founding members of the NFL, but historically among the most dysfunctional of franchises, finally have joined the big boys. Capitalizing on Larry Fitzgerald’s three first-half touchdown receptions, then coolly marching downfield to Kurt Warner’s 8-yard scoring pass to rookie Tim Hightower with 2:53 left, they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 32-25 Sunday for the NFC championship. ()
Now, before you ask me why I would be happy that my home team lost this game, allow me to ’splain. I like the Eagles. I am (usually) an Eagles fan. However, I despise head coach Andy Reid and really despise quarterback Donovan McNabb. I believe both of these tools are extremely overrated. (Reid is 1-4 in NFC Championship games, by the way.)
That being said, here are my thoughts on the game:
1. Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald are two genuine class acts. Unlike a certain overrated quarterback, Warner and Fitzgerald play the game with grace and without being thug show offs. I’m glad they will be going to the Super Bowl.
2. Yes, McNabb played well in the second half, but guess what? If he played even half-decent in the first half, the Eagles would have won the game. Rush Limbaugh was right: McNabb is overrated.
3. Local sports talk bog o’ douche Mike Missanelli touched the money this week. On Tuesday, he said the Cardinals had “no shot” against the Eagles, that the Cardinals “stink,” and that the Eagles would “easily win” this game.
How’s that working out for ya, jerkass?
4. Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio sung the praises of McNabb this week, and stated that the Eagles overrated QB was “a mortal lock for the Hall of Fame.” Eh, what? Don’t get me wrong; McNabb is a very good quarterback, but the Hall of Fame? Um, not so much. At least not yet.
Larry Fitzgerald (11) - class act.
So, there you have it, my $0.02. Feel free to rip me in the comments for not “root, root rooting” for the home team if you’d like, but my opinion of Reid and McNabb will not change.

The ref. is going to retire after this game he should have already retired–he’s fucking senile. Took one td away and gave aother to the ravens another this is fucking bullshit.

McNabb had veryy little to do with this loss. The Defense was a complete failure in the 1st half.
25 points is plenty to win.
oh, and “I like the Eagles. I am (usually) an Eagles fan.” is REALLY funny.

Randal - Okay, how’s this: I (usually) don’t wish Eagles players dead. I’ll cheer for them again when McNabb and Reid are gone. It’ll probably be another five years or so now.

Well thanks to our defense–barring a miracle–the steelers should have it now with under a minute to go. Ravens have no time outs even if they score it wont matter.

Well, whatever went wrong in the first half, sucked. I am an Eagles fan…I am still glad that they made it this far but honestly…I wonder where the 3rd qtr Eagles were in the 1st, 2nd and 4th quarters???

Not that it’s a surprise, I totally agree with you Monsieur Earp. McNabb isn’t the worst quarterback ever, but he is certainly not a Hall of Famer. The years the eggos were good, they good because of their defense and running game.

Good. Kurt Warner is a gentleman and a fine example of a good man in all respects. I hope he and the Cardinals win.
