Back On The Wagon
By Wyatt Earp | January 17, 2009
Last January, . After the six-month battle of the bulge, I lost 40 pounds - from 236 to 196. The competition ended on June 30th, and I rested on my laurels for the next six months. While I was still exercising, I had become lax with my Weight Watchers program.
Today, I hopped on the scale and was mortified to see that it read 200 pounds. I had gained four pounds since June 30th, and while it may not seem like much, I can almost see (and feel) myself becoming a fat slob again. Weight gain is a slippery chocolate slope, and I was riding the wave.
No longer.
Starting today, I am back on the program. I want to get down to 185 pounds (I’m 5′9″) by the summer. The last time I was 185 was during my freshman year of college, so I know it won’t be easy. I will continue to post my progress here every Saturday - as RT does - and with any luck (and will power), I’ll be able to get to my university weight.
Wish me luck.

I’m trying to get to 10th grade weight. Luckily, I looked rather slim even though I was two inches shorter than I am now. Heh.
I have a pair of pinstripe jeans in my closet waiting for my happy dance.
I’ll figure out this thyroid/fluid/hell and when I do….the happy dance will not be far out of reach.
You can and will do it! Time to get back to the marathon.

Wyatt, you are young enough, and I’m sure you have the self discipline to reach your goal. For myself,I’ll remain somewhere around 255,bald,gray bearded and enjoying my bourbon. However after a year of Obamaomics,I might be 155,balder,white bearded and enjoying home brew. Good luck.

My goal is 100 pounds. That is what I have to lose. I won’t mention when I last weighed less than 160. But I have a feeling the three children (2 of them with pneumonia) have something to do with my current predicament.
I just need to stop making excuses.

Diller - Moonshine has its benefits, though. Heh.
Jim - I don’t know how he stays so thin running a steak place like that. No clue.
Kim - Start walking. Start with a half mile and work your way up another half mile in a week or two. That’s how I started, and now I’m cycling 5 miles a day - when it’s not 30 below - and I’m walking 5 miles when I don’t ride.
