Sorry ladies, The Golden Boy is officially off the market. TMZ and E! report that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady proposed to his girlfriend, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, aboard a private jet on Christmas Eve. Bündchen accepted.
The couple was traveling from New Jersey to Boston when Brady reportedly popped the question. TMZ also notes that Bündchen’s parents were aboard the flight, along with four dozen white roses and bottles of champagne. No word on whether Bill Belichick had the proposal videotaped. (H/T - )
I just love how this story begins: “Sorry ladies, The Golden Boy is officially off the market.” As if 99.9% of the normal gals and the Long Island house fraus had any shot at Tom Brady. Rich, successful sports stars don’t marry regular women. They marry equally rich, successful supermodels. It’s the natural order of things.

Seriously, I hope they will be very happy.
However, unions of ‘rich, successful sports stars’ with equally ‘rich, successful supermodels’ aren’t always the stellar success that the publicists hope for.
Sadly, “It’s the natural order of things.”
(There is a lot to be said for 2 normal people finding love and long term devotion and companionship. If I am sounding sentimental, it is our 42nd wedding anniversary today)

Bridget Moynahan, Tom’s ex, has got to feel like crap. There she was, dating an attractive, rich, athelete that has 3 Super Bowl Rings, and now? She can never date up from there unless she manages to snag Bruce Wayne.

I also agree with Alan B.
High profile relationships are kind of interesting, though. They always seem to have everything going for them, but there are always huge egos involved, and that (sometimes) seems to get in the way. I hope they are very happy together. They certainly make an attractive couple.
