Cardinal: Madonna Rouses “Impure Thoughts”

By Wyatt Earp | December 11, 2008

True enough. When I see and/or hear her, I want to smash her over the head with a pool cue. I’m just sayin’.

SANTIAGO, Chile – Madonna is causing “crazy enthusiasm” and “impure thoughts” on her first concert visit to Chile, a prominent retired cardinal complained on Wednesday, as he paused in a tribute to a late dictator to denounce the pop star.

Roman Catholic Cardinal Jorge Medina criticized the flamboyant singer during his homily at a Mass in honor of the late dictator Augusto Pinochet, who oversaw the deaths of some 3,200 dissidents during his 1973-1990 rule.

“This woman comes here and in an incredibly shameless manner, she provokes a crazy enthusiasm, an enthusiasm of lust, lustful thoughts, impure thoughts,” said Medina, the cardinal who was chosen to announce the election of Pope Benedict XV. ()

Oh, he means impure thoughts of a sexual manner? See, this is just nonsense. Allow me to clarify things for the Cardinal. This is 80’s Madonna:

I have to admit, there are a whole lot of impure thoughts going on right there. She’s young, hot, and slutty. What’s not to lust?

Now this is the Madonna of today:

Impure thoughts? Eh, not so much. I hope this helps, Cardinal.

    Off topic already:

I tried to put up a constructive comment on the previous thread (US flag) but the comments were closed. Was my comment rejected or was the tone getting pretty bad (I suspect it was the latter).

    Calm it down, chaps

Alan - I put the explanation at the end of the post. Your instincts were right.

Yeah, she’s a ho. However, did the good Cardinal not see the irony in his statements given the subject of his homily?

Yes, the impure thoughts we have are about somehow making her go away. The old skank.

RT - Yeah, he lambastes Madonna - and rightly so - while praising Pinochet. Eh, what?

Mare - I was hoping she would let Guy Ritchie get away so he could make great, Madonna-less films again.

That’s actually a flattering picture of her. Madonna has gotten very sinewy - I hear she works out about 4 hours a day, and when you are 50 that can make you look very gaunt. Read the British press and you can find all kinds of stuff about her. She won’t let her kids watch TV (I guess they might see one of her old movies).

She and Guy Ritchie have divorced and I can’t wait to see the movie he’s currently directing. Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes!!

is it me or in the last picture doesn’t she look a lot like Sarah Jessica Parker? And that’s not a good thing.

I think the Cardinal doth protest too much. My bet is he’s trying to look straight to the congregation before the lawsuit hits the diocese.
