Obama Dress Designer Can’t Pay Rent

By Wyatt Earp | October 25, 2010

In January, 2009, dress designer Tracy Feith (yeah, he’s a guy) was on top of the world. Feith designed a floral dress for Michelle Obama during the inauguration that was met with critical acclaim. Of course, real people thought the dress was hideous, but hey, different strokes for different folks.

Amazingly, Feith’s creation did not attract more business, and now the designer can’t even make his rent payments. Considering what Michelle looks like in these fashion abortions, Feith is lucky he hasn’t been run out of NYC on a rail.

Feith and longtime partner Susan Winget have been virtually invisible as of late, which may have something to do with the more than $200,000 he and his company owe to landlords in Manhattan and in Montauk.

In January 2009, Feith got the most coveted fashion seal of approval – outfitting the First Lady – when Obama stepped out in his floral frock during inauguration festivities. By May of that year, however, Feith was evicted from the Madison Ave. storefront (between 93rd and 94th Sts.) where he operated his boutique. By December, a judgment was issued in Manhattan Supreme Court ordering Feith’s corporation to pay $77,060.38 in rent he owed to his landlord, KPLJ LLC.

You know the problem here, right?

The hideous dress is below the fold.

You should have posted a picture of the dress. It looks like something I would make fun of in Filene’s basement.

He should be tried for war crimes.

Mrs. Crankipants – I posted a photo of the dress. If anyone goes blind, they can blame you.

Watuschskie – No, I think God did that.

RT – It was a cavalcade of teh ugly.

Rick – Ain’t that the truth!

John D – She’s not a bright woman, but she did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Mrs. Crankipants – Hit it out of the park.

Smite – “I said, ‘Monster, we’re not gonna give you three fiddy!’”

Proof – I think they both wax their chests.

Robert B. – Probably at Lindsay Lohan’s house, serving a warrant.

Bethany- true in her 5 year old form is more interested in the gun at the top of the page than the dress. I’ve been raising her right. :)
