Tales From The Ranch

By Wyatt Earp | May 1, 2010

Yesterday was a glorious day off for yours truly. The sun was shining, the temperatures were warm, and we gave the kids the day off from lacrosse practice.

I had the day all to myself.

So, after running a few errands, I came home to enjoy the brood. Kyle, Erik, and I played street hockey after school. After dinner, I took Julia for a long walk in the stroller. (Gotta lose the pounds before Wyattpalooza.) During the walk, I received a picture message on my phone. It was the wife, who sent me a photo of Kevin, our 2-year old. She was out back with him when he got into the gardening equipment. Always the showman, he found a new way to escape the sun’s UV rays.

The priceless photo is below the fold:

Um, yeah, he definitely takes after Dad. And for the record, Kevin put the bucket on his head all by himself. It wasn’t a “photo op.” It was damned funny, though.

It sounds like a great day was had by all. May you have many more.

It is funny how genetics work and how easy it is to ID your own genes.

That is a cute pic. My lady and I had a chuckle over it.

Will you be bringing your family to the gathering next Saturday?

    Old NFO – Can’t wait!

RT – Better than today. Kevin fell at a Communion party and split his wig. Bled on the carpet as I freaked out. Twas fun.

    Robert B – Hell. NO! It’s Sunday No-Family Funday!

What a kid! Next thing you know, he’ll actually WANT to do yard work! (That will last until he’s about old enough to actually be able to do it.)

Should have sent him to me today. Me and my oldest got some quality time with a roto-tiller and 750 sq feet of garden plot in. No pics of the kid with a tiller on his head though.

Bob – Exactly. Let me mow the lawn! (10 yeards later) Um, no thanks!

CP – Yeah, that would be a tad hard to explain.
