(Black) People Of Walmart

By Wyatt Earp | March 17, 2010

A South Jersey Walmart store is in hot water today after someone made an insensitive announcement over the store’s PA system. The store management later apologized for the comments. Of course, anyone could have made the announcement, since there are store phones every ten feet, but the Philly media seems content to blame Walmart management:

Wal-Mart officials are reviewing security tapes after an announcement was made for “all black people” to leave a southern New Jersey store.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday, a male voice came over the public-address system at the Route 42 store in Washington Township and calmly announced: “Attention Wal-Mart customers: All black people leave the store now.”

Washington Township police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident as a possible bias crime.

Stop it. How bored must the Washington Township be if they are investigating this idiocy as a bias crime. Where exactly is the crime here? It was an insensitive, ignorant comment made by an idiot. But a crime? Eh, not so much.

Besides, if Walmart is asking people to leave the store, they should be asking people like this:

*shudder*

    RT – It’s freakin’ amazing, isn’t it?

Ralph – And it’s only getting worse.

Miriam – Not possible. My readers are the most gorgeous/handsome people on Earth.

“Bias crime?” Are ya freakin’ KIDDING me?!?! Oy. I’m gonna shut up now before I start ranting like an idiot.

Oh, and Wyatt, you’ve obviously never seen a picture of me. I’d send you one, only your computer would explode the second it downloaded. Which would be a good thing, actually; if you actually glimpsed the picture your eyes would start bleeding.

I know it was wrong, but I laughed my ass off this morning when I heard this on the radio. If I had been in that Wal-Mart it would have been worse, I’d still be on the floor laughing. It’s rude – but it was funny. Yikes, sorry if I offended anyone :p

Robbie – I was thinking the same thing. It’s wrong, but I got a giggle out of it.

Back boobies- how is that possible? I’m guessing that photo was never submitted to “Go Try It On”.

They probably would have had more people leave if they had announced “all guidos leave the store…” I mean, it was Jersey. So much for political correctness.

MeToo – That’s actually a pretty good point.

I see where the washington township police have made an arrest! Wow, great defective work on the township’s finest. I wonder if the federales will pursue charges. Holder is probably chomping at the bit.

I also read that an arrest has been made. For what exactly? If saying stupid sh*t (which I thought was okay as far as the first amendment was concerned) was a crime, most everybody would be on death row.

The lowlives at the local news are going to over-cover this, and a guy who’s only crime is being a knucklehead will be turned into a pariah.

Combine the liberal boogiemen of racism and Walmart, and you have a story. Some idiot going off on a P.A. is a much bigger story than racially motivated attacks on Asian kids in South Philadelphia High School.
