Diving Below The Mendoza Line
By Wyatt Earp | September 20, 2009
“Mendozaaaaa!”
It’s a damned fine day, kids. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and bees are trying to have sex with them . . . as is my understanding. I am in a good mood today because it is weigh day – and I kicked that scale’s ass!
It is always easier to make my Weight Watchers points when I am on night work. And so far I have been making my points for the last few days. Apparently, it paid off. I hopped on the scale this morning, and the wife double-checked the numbers:
“It’s between 198 and 199.”
Now, since I try to be as accurate as possible here, I am not going to round down the numbers. We’ll call it 199 this week, as I finally get below the “Mendoza Line.” I am down a total of 9 pounds in two months, so far. Just in time, too, as our new ice hockey season begins on Thursday.
And for the record, I am only 4 pounds from breaking the number I was at the end of last year’s weight loss contest. Suh-weet!

Congratulations! I know it’s been a lot of hard work to get to where you are now. Keep it up and you’ll reach your goal sooner than you think.

Joated – Thanks. I hope so. I am thinking of looking past 195, and trying for under 190.
Old NFO – Ice Hockey starts on Thursday, so the calorie burn will ramp up soon.

Fantastic! Now that the weather is cooler, it’s easier to exercise. Between hockey and chasing the bad guys, you’ll reach your goal in no time!

I’ve been sick for the last two days, I’m still in a tizzy over my mom’s death and I GAINED 2 lbs this week (after staying at 245 for 7 straight weeks). Arrghh!
