A Construction Update

Remember the other day when I said, “God hates me?”
Well, gimme a double! Massive thunderstorms hit the Philly area yesterday, and just when we thought everything in the house was drying out, we popped leaks all over again. The construction crew did a fantastic job of fixing Friday’s problem, but Mother Nature’s brutal wind made short work of that. The water got under the tarps, and we had the same – albeit less severe – water issues as Friday.
Always the professional, the contractor came out personally to pump the water off the roof, and helped us fix the leaks. He also reminded us that he and his crew would fix any and all damage from the storms.
The good news is that Philly is supposed to be dry for a day or two, and that should be all the crew needs to get the plywood and other material up there so rain won’t be a problem in the future. They were here and working at 7am, and have been kicking ass ever since.
As for the weather, luckily, we all still have our sense of humor:
Oh, and for the record, I think Shirley Manson is uber-hot.

As much as I hate to hear you’re going through this, I’m glad to hear you have quality contractors who actually back up what they said.

I’m glad you have a positive attitude, because with the freaky storms we’ve gotten, it might be hard to. Glad you have a good contractor.

Sounds like you guys are having a blast with this remodeling project. I hope Mother Nature behaves for a while now.

Doghouse – It’s 90 degrees here today (Tuesday), and they were here at 7am again. Boo-yah!
RT – Yeah, they rock. Told us they would be bringing siding and window samples this week. Good news.
E.L. – One good rain-free week would really help.
Woody – You’re welcome. She has a great voice and other qualities desired by the superficial man.
BA – Nothing better.
RAPH – I think it’s unanimous.
Admiral – She’s awesome.
