Predator Stalking Craigslist Advertisers?

By Wyatt Earp | April 18, 2009

julissa-brismanThis is Julissa Brisman. She was brutally murdered by a man that police believe is stalking his prey through Craigslist. Apparently, the offender is responding to advertisements for certain services, and robbing the victims at gunpoint.

Julissa Brisman was shot multiple times during the latest incident.

If you are in the Boston area, please make yourself aware of this story.

Police in Boston, Massachusetts, are searching for a man suspected in the murder of one woman and the armed robbery of two others, all of whom, they say, he may have met through their Craigslist ads for personal services.

Officers discovered New York resident Julissa Brisman, 26, unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds at Boston’s Copley Marriott Hotel on Tuesday night. She was transferred to Boston Medical Center, where she died shortly afterward.

Police said Brisman, a model, offered massages via Craigslist, a popular online classified ad service. The confrontation between Brisman and her killer seems to have begun as an attempted robbery, police said.

“It appears that there was a struggle between the victim and the suspect in the threshold of the hotel room immediately prior to the shooting,” the Boston Police Department said in a statement on its Web site.

And in response, this animal shot Julissa multiple times, killing her.

Police speculate the man may also be responsible for the recent robberies of two other young women who offered personal services via Craigslist.

Four days before Brisman’s slaying, a 29-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint at a Westin Hotel in Boston. Police spokesman Joe Zanola would not disclose the details of her Craigslist ad but said she and Brisman were “involved in similar professions.”

On Thursday night at a Holiday Inn Express in Warwick, Rhode Island, a man tied up and demanded money from a 26-year-old dancer who had posted a Craigslist advertisement, according to Warwick’s police chief, Col. Stephen McCartney.

He said that no conclusions could be made but allowed that the incident “may be related to similar crimes occurring in the Boston area.” (H/TCNN)

A terrible story. Again, if you live in the Boston area and advertise on Craigslist, please keep your eyes open for this scumbag.

FOX News showed surveillance footage that police provided of a man they believe is responsible (given the pattern). Perhaps folks can go look at that, too. It might help.

However, the only thing I could find posted (unless I missed the video) is a still shot of the footage. Might be worth a look.

    How scary.

Offering up “massage” services on Craigslist is kinda like leaving your front door unlocked and wide open in Kensington on a Saturday night….you’re just inviting bad things to happen.

It’s a shame that this did happen, but it’s CRAIG’S LIST…for a MASSAGE…in a STRANGERS hotel room! What the hell!

    B-R-A-I-N!

RT – Is that Carson from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? Heh.

Randal – Oh, you’re just pissed that your appointment is now canceled.

I’ve bought a few things from Craig’s List and even gotten some of the freebies, but I always bring someone with me. There’s way too many weirdos.

When I have stuff I’m giving away, I just leave it on my porch after the person has agreed to pick it up. It they take it, they take it. If not, I end up giving it to the Salvation Army.

Those women were WAY too trusting, and with all the freaks of nature out there, there’s no way I’m meeting any stranger allone anywhere.
