Tour De Lance: Stage 6

By Wyatt Earp | July 7, 2005

Rain, rain, go the hell away! A miserable day in France kept the rider’s times slow, and the crashes high. Lance Armstrong came away unscathed after another close call during a crash, and kept his 55 second lead over George Hincapie.

Possible Worry Alert: Armstrong’s advantage over Alexandre Vinokourov was narrowed to 1 minutes, 2 seconds after the rider from Kazakhstan placed second in the stage from Troyes to Nancy. (AP) Vinokourov is a very good cyclist, and his jump from seventh to third in the overall standings is a bit worrisome.
